Munchkin Cthulu editions and printings
 

Hello! I want to buy the chtulu set here in Europe. So I found these versions:

Munchkin Cthulhu - english ed.
1st edition – 5th Printing – published January 2011

Munchkin Cthulhu 2: Call of Cowthulhu
no date

Munchkin Cthulhu 4: Crazed Cavern
1st edition – 1st Printing – Published August 2010

I want to know if those are the up-to-date versions (corrected errata & updated cards) or there are later editions.

Only one I'd be worried about is #2. The magic cut-off date is April 2010. Anything after that is the updated version. With no date on the package, I'd GUESS it is probably the old version. The only Munchkin I own without a date on it is my Fantasy Core Set, and it is most DEFINITELY the old, uncorrected version. By several years. Don't know about Cthulhu for sure, but that would be my guess, due to the lack of date.

I thought the magic 2010 date reflected the changes to any new changes most effecting Fantasy with a few updates to some cards in the other sets. I'm not an official rep so all i can do is point you to the change log.

Cthulhu is not on the list of card changes but the new General rules do update how munchkin is played in any set.

Yeah, I guess you are right. Hnh. I would have sworn that I was told April was the cutoff. Maybe I'm remembering that anything AFTER April was OK (hence May)?

Munchkin's 19th printing was printed in April of 2010, but because of how things go, the release did not occur until May. However, everything else was printed in or after May of 2010.

Any copy printed after April, 2010. Everything is still 1st Edition, just different printing numbers. I couldn't tell you the specific printing numbers of Munchkin Cthulhu products printed after April, 2010, but maybe Andrew can. Either way: Any copy printed after April, 2010 is all you should technically need to know to find what you need.

Something else to consider: the GUAL "patch set" only replaced two cards from Munchkin Cthulhu 2 - a Super Munchkin and a Cheat - and the changes to those aren't particularly hard to deal with. In a worst-case scenario where you got an old copy of that set, you shouldn't have a hard time coping with the differences.
