4E Books with 'real' Gun Stats
Just wanting to make sure that I am aware of all of the books with 4E 'real' gun stats:
4E Books with Gun Stats: GURPS High-Tech GURPS Martial Arts: Fairbairn Close Combat Systems GURPS High-Tech: Pulp Guns, Volume 1 GURPS High-Tech: Pulp Guns, Volume 2 GURPS Gun Fu GURPS SEALS in Vietnam GURPS Tactical Shooting And: Pyramid 2E The two HCV articles: 'Modern Firepower at the Movies' and 'Pulp Guns at the Movies' Plus Pyramid 3E 'Monster Hunter Firepower at the Movies' in 3/31 Monster Hunters |
Re: 4E Books with 'real' Gun Stats
Loadouts: Monster Hunters has a handful that may not be replicated elsewhere.

Re: 4E Books with 'real' Gun Stats
Really seems like we need complete "Weapon Tables" or at least an index including the guns from all listed sources... (probably a fan-mission)
ATM it's not really comfortable if you're searching for a specific gun which is not in High-Tech ;) |
Re: 4E Books with 'real' Gun Stats
Even with High Tech, there's sub-variations that are in the text descriptions and not on the table.
It can get to be too much. I made a document with every gun stat from all the books so I can search for a name if I want. Very tedious since I put all those subvariations in. Like all the BAR calibers... |

Glad to have them, but probably in the future everything in the table is a better idea. I know from playtest experience that tables in their original format are a nightmare, but even with frex MH having the slugs for shotguns there it is just better and easier. |
Re: 4E Books with 'real' Gun Stats
I tend to list alt- ammo on the table with the gun.
That puts the stats for things like slugs at my finger tips. Plus things like a .44 magnum being able to shoot .44 Special and .44 Russian... |

In fact, this works in reverse, for prospective authors. If you work out your table in Excel, you can build a properly formatted GURPS table as follows: 1. Build the table in excel. Don't bother with bolding headers or anything. 2. Copy the entire thing 3. Paste it into the WYSIWYG template using "Paste Special/Unformatted Text" 4. You now have tab-delimited text in your file. 5. Format your first row, likely as TABLEHD 6. Format your actual table contents as TABLE or TEXT-TABLE (whatever it is) 7. Insert a single TAB before every line of text 8. Go back and put the appropriate HALFLINE insertions where they need to be. Poof . . . basically done. You of course must check and double-check GURPSFORMATS.DOC to make sure that you've got the details right, but this trick will save a lot of time. It did for me. |
