Kronos's Balseraphs: No Dissonance for Malakim?
Kronos's Balseraph Band Attunement allows them to emulate the resonance of any one Choir of angel. It says the resonance's prohibitions, as well as dissonance, also apply.
But Malakim dissonance only comes from breaking their oaths. Heaven and the individual Malakim themselves impose those oaths upon themselves ("never surrender", or "never suffer an evil to live if it's your choice", for instance). If a Balseraph chooses to emulate the Malakim resonance, is Kronos going to force him to take any oaths (certainly it wouldn't be anything about having to kill demons, although I could get "never surrender")? Or will they just be dissonance-free unless they choose to take oaths to undo dissonance as Malakim can? I guess a similar thing could be asked about Yves's "Master of Divine Knowledge" Servitor attunement, except that in his case it seems much more likely they'd be forced to take the same kinds of Malakim oaths if they chose to acquire the Malakim resonance with it. |
Re: Kronos's Balseraphs: No Dissonance for Malakim?
I'm away from my books, but I believe the Infernal Players Guide covers this. As I recall, a "Balakite" gets to pick their own four oaths, which generally do not include the vow about not suffering an evil to live. Some do swear not to suffer an angel to live if it's their choice, of course. :D
That said, Malakite would be a tricky one, even for a Snake of Kronos. Balseraphs are used to everything being conditional; having to live up to their sworn word could be ... interesting. |
