A few quick questions

Hey I just ordered this game so i havent had a chance to pay it yet but i had a few questions, sorry if theyre kinda newbie

1. If a card says lose all big items is this just ones you have in play or ones in your hand too? Same with lose 1 small item, can it be from your hand?
2. Would your gender be the one shown on your race card?
3. If im using the half breed card, but only one race and i lose my race, do i lose the half breed card too?

Thanks in advance!

Re: A few quick questions

Hey welcome to Munchkin! Its one of the best games out there! I would really suggest you read this link and everything that's in it. It really helped me out when I first got into Munchkin.
Your questions:
1. You only loose the items that are in play, infront of you, on the table, unless a card states otherwise.
2.Your gender is the one God gave you. If you need help with this, your parents can help you out. (Card design does not matter.
3.Yes.

Hi there, welcome to Munchkin. Since your game hasn't arrived yet, you can read the rules for every Munchkin game here.

The answers you seek can be found there. I'll quote some relevant passages here:
1.
Quote:

Your Hand: Cards in your hand are not in play. They don’t
help you, but they can’t be taken away except by cards that specifically
affect “your hand.”
Quote:

An item card in your hand does not count until you play it;
at that point, it is “carried.”
2.
Quote:

Your character’s sex starts off the same as your own.
3. It depends on what effect triggers the losing of the Race. Sometimes it's possible for you to descard a Race card and immediately puts another replacing the old one. You should handle each case as unique, since cards in Munchkin allow you to break the rules. But as a general rule, yes, you can't have Half-Breed without a Race card.

I was told here that even if you immediately replace your race with another, the half-breed status goes away.

As I said, it depends on the reason the discard is made. You were told that when hit by a specific Curse! to discard cards, Half-Breed goes away.

But if you are a Half-Elf Thief, with an Halfing card on your hand, you could discard the Elf card to trigger the stealing ability, and, if it is your turn, you can play the Halfing card and become one Half-Halfing. There are others exceptions, as almost anything on Munchkin.

If you get nailed by some kind of bad effect like a Curse or a Bad Stuff that eliminates your Races, then yes, you'd lose Half-Breed. If you're just swapping Races around yourself on your own turn, then you can keep the card out, as long as at least 1 race is on it when you're done Race-swapping.

Not in that order, you can't. You could play Halfling first and then ditch the Elf, however.

Again, I don't know where this idea came from, but let me be absolutely, utterly clear: if AT ANY TIME you have a "naked" Half-Breed, Super Munchkin, etc. card, you must discard it.

Re: A few quick questions

OK...so a "naked" Half, super card cant be played by itself.

What about being a high, dark, master card? Can you be a high human? or Master No Class Human?

Can you play high and dark at the same time?

High: "Add this card to a Race card."
Dark: "Add this card to a Race card."
Master: "Add this card to a Class card."

You can't play one of those cards unless you have a card to play it on.

Yes. And in Waiting for Santa, you can be Naughty and Nice at the same time.

No. (At least, not in the sense you're referring to.)

No. Same reason as above. (Follow the link.)

Yup. On the same Race even.

If I hadn't been typing and cutting and pasting one handed (talking to my wife on the phone with the other), his and my post may have come in at at the same time, to make it even funnier. . .
