Storing & Transporting Your Dungeon Cards
Hello,
There are plenty of card storage & transport options for the normal Munchkin cards. But what do you put the oversized Dungeon cards in? Thanks! |
Re: Storing & Transporting Your Dungeon Cards
I have the Boxes Of Holding for my Fantasy munchkin cards. I have found that the Door box is pretty full, but the Treasures box has room to spare. I use the spare room in the Treasure box to allow the Treasure coards to sit at an angle in the box, rather than straight up as if the box was full of cards. With the cards at an angle, I can lay the Dungeon cards flat on top and transport them as well inside the Treasure box.
Works well and keeps all of the Fantasy genre cards together. |
Re: Storing & Transporting Your Dungeon Cards
Both my boxes of holding are pretty full, but if you split the Dungeon deck in half and put 10 flat on top of the cards in each box I've found the stacks aren't thick enough to prevent the boxes from closing properly, and that is taking into consideration my decks are sleeved as well.

The doors from each set/expansion are filling like Trsevener said, but the treasures box doesn't contain as much, even with several expansions. |
Re: Storing & Transporting Your Dungeon Cards
I actually have a plastic card case that I bought at my Wal-Mart, with 3 large sections & 2 small sections in it. The two upper large sections have Doors and Treasures respectively, the small sections have overflow Doors and Munchkin Dice & D6s. The bottom large section has everything else... Fairy Dust, blank cards, small rulebooks, bag of silver pieces, and my Dungeon cards. I'm eventually going to run out of space for doors, though... Thankfully I have some Boxes of Holding coming in the mail right now. Or perhaps if I look around I can find an even bigger card-carrying case. Not sure what shops to go to for that, though, I'm fairly certain my local hobby shop doesn't have anything substantial.

I use the Boxes of Holding for the Doors and Treasures (with Fairy Dust and Munchkonomicon in with the treasures). I use the original box Munchkin came in for everything else, including Dungeons. To put into perspective, "everything else" includes Munchkin Pawns, Level Counter cards for both Regular and Epic, little plastic tokens for those cards, every rule book from every expansion, a small stack of promo coins, and a Kill-O-Meter.

General Tip:
Rubber-bands - Helps keep sets separate as well as treasures from doors, and is fairly cheap. As dungeon cards have the size of two cards laying next to each other one can lay portals and other cards in stacks on top of them in a regular core box, but in a box of holding is a good option, I find if the dungeon cards are laying diagonally, not flat, that the box is easier to close. Currently I am using 3 core boxes and 2 sets of boxes of holding: - one core box for rules, other rules and my kill-o-meter. - one core box for cards and a bag of multiple d6 dice that followed cores, dice of protection and cthulhu dice. - the last core box with cards and 6 d10 and a level counter. - one set of boxes of holding to Fantasy. - box of holding doors, demos, add-ons like fairy cards, portals and dungeon cards, bag of Munchkin babes as well as 2 wicked dice. - box of holding treasures, bookmarks and other promo items/cards. Pre Boxes of Holding I used 4-5 core boxes. I have them in a bag with other games... though in the side pocket are the epic rules. |
Re: Storing & Transporting Your Dungeon Cards
Just a thought, but rubber bands tend to damage cards and if left on for a long time will dry out and melt onto cards, as seen on older games that people donate or sell after many years.
A suggestion I've heard about is to use metalless hair bands (the cloth covered ones). |
Re: Storing & Transporting Your Dungeon Cards
i'll second the "ouchless" hair bands. 12 for a buck at walmart.

Re: Storing & Transporting Your Dungeon Cards
There have been no damage on my cards with rubber bands(mine where fairly large), then again I did never use them on all my cards, just some so that they didn't mix while stacked the same way in the box.
Now a days I don't use any (though mainly since they got weak and snapped:P ) |
