Kneepads, Elves, and Fairy Dust
I searched and couldn't find this one. If it's out there, please direct me, thanks.
We played regular Munchkin tonight with the Fairy Dust cards. Someone got the Kneepads of Allure, and used them to force an Elf into helping in combat. Does the Elf still go up a level and get a Fairy Dust card? As in, do those count as "rewards" for helping, or are they a natural part of being an Elf and helping in combat when there are FD cards around? TIA for any help! |
Re: Kneepads, Elves, and Fairy Dust
So KoA states that the person that you are bringing into the combat cannot ask for a reward, which means that they don't get any part of the treasure.
If you compel an Elf to help you, then they do get a level (even if it is the winning level, since KoA only prevents you from getting the winning level). Per the Fairy Dust rule sheet, you are entitled to a Fairy Dust card if you help someone else win in combat. There is no stipulation that you had to enter the combat of your own free will. At least that's how I interpret things. |
Re: Kneepads, Elves, and Fairy Dust
Uttwich is correct on all counts. The player who was Kneepadded cannot ask for anything in return for his help, but if he gets any rewards just by virtue of helping, such as an Elf helper's level, he does get to claim those rewards.

We thought the FD counted as a Reward. Thanks for setting us straight!
