[Martial Arts] Couple of Questions:

  • Under "Sprawling" it notes that if successful you wind up in a "Mount" position (Kneeling ontop of your foe), but is there any reason why you couldn't end in a "Guard" position if you preferred (lying face-up under your opponent)?
  • Does an opponent thrown by a "Sacrafice Throw" still have to make an HT roll to avoid being stunned?

"no" and "yes" would be my takes - you generally get to choose the options when you do something successfully, so going to a guard postion if you wish should be possible.

Ans a Sacrifice Throw is still a throw, and a thrown party might be stunned.

Since the point is thet you end up in a more advantageous position then by *not* Sprawling - Yes, sure!

Sure, a throw is a throw. But does this also apply for Throwing from Locks?

Not quite... Sprawling this way would still break your opponets hold, and it allows easier follow-up with Lower-Body techniques, specificly Lower-Body Leg Locks.

Good question.

Re: [Martial Arts] Couple of Questions:

Here's a few more:
  • MA.118, "Shoving People Around", indicates that you and your opponent need to be standing. But would this also work on the ground to use the "Face Changing" options... getting behind your opponent or turning his back to you. This also seems like it could be used to switch from "Guard" to "Mount", or vice versa. What do you folks think?
  • Has there been a consensus or clarification on how "Defense While Grappling" (MA.121) interplays with Grappling rules on B.370. Specificly, does grappling a limb give -4 DX with that limb only (per B.370) or -4 DX to everything and that limb can't attack or parry (per MA.121 & "Pain and Breaking Free" on MA.119).
  • Does the "Power Grappling" Perk apply to a Judo-based Choke Hold Technique when rolling for damage/fatigue? While Judo-based skills normally don't benefit from Wrestling/Sumo ST bonuses, thus the ST+Skill for ST substitution is questionable, Choke Hold refers to the basic "Choke & Strangle" quick contest on B370. Additionally, if I can use the ST+Skill substitution, do I use Judo or the skill level of the Technique?
  • How do you force a non-standing opponent to the ground? Currently I cannot find any rules that would allow you to bare a kneeling/sitting/crawling or even crouching person to a prone position... other than perhaps a shove. Could takedown be extended to do this, or should it be a new option for "Shoving People Around"? Likewise there is no mechanic (at least that I can find) to force a person to their feet if you have them grappled.

--------------

Lastly, what discount would you give to the following; and how realistic/cinematic would you consider them. Would you require a "Special Exercises" Perk?
  • Enhanced Parry (Bare Hands; vs. grapples only)
  • Enhanced Parry (Bare Hands; only when lying Face-up)
  • Enhanced Parry (Bare Hands; only vs. Grapples while lying face-up)
  • Extra Attack (only for Break-Free attempts)
  • Extra Attack (only to maintain a choke hold)

Thanks in advance!

I don't think so.

Sacrifice Throw is a particular AoA variety of Judo Throw, and one of the benefits of the Judo Throw is that HT roll for stunning. If you throw someone with a lock, the side effects of the lock itself are pain or damage.
