Munchkin in hungarian
 

Hi! (second post today!, I'm on a roll!)
We play munchkin in english original, but there are one or two members of our group who played it in hungarian (mainly original munchkin 1) before, and we always had a disagreement about the "will not pursue below level 3" line on some monsters.
I always took it that I can fight it, but if I run away it will not pursue me (and I seem to recall an official ruling around here that I was right)
Then, once I got invited to an other party, who play with Hungarian munchkin, and that line read "will not fight below level 3" (reverse translation), and I was going "aha!" on them and they thought I was crazy :)
So I just wanted to ask, what happens with the policy about "it says everything on the card", when it says different things?

I'm not sure what you're looking for. I don't know if anyone here is responsible for poor or mistaken translations, though maybe someone, somewhere can suggest it to the company providing the translations and publishing the Hungarian version that they need to fix it. All I can consider myself an expert on is the English version, in which "will not pursue" means that you automatically Run Away from those Monsters if you meet the criteria. However, you're not forced to Run Away from those Monster, nor are they going to ignore you, unless the card says otherwise.

To back up what Erik said, on these forums we provide support for the English rules. Our official policy is to trust that the translators know what they're doing, because we certainly don't speak all the languages we'd need to speak to check them all. (If someone wants to pay for a Latin license . . . THAT one, I'd happily check.) This does occasionally lead to problems, unfortunately. All we can do is explain what the English rules say, which is the designer's intent.
