Charity question

I am the lowest level player but already have 5 cards.

It is another player's turn and they hand me a cheat card which I can't use right away but want to keep.

I now have to get rid of a card but since it's not my turn, I can't just play cards from my hand right?
In the example I am using, say I have a potion in my hand and a race card. Can I play those to the table even though it isn't my turn, OR because it isn't my turn, I will have to decide which card to put in the discard pile?

You do not have to get rid of excess cards until the end of your turn. You're fine.

Re: Charity question

Wow.. Okay, so if I'm reading this correctly, let's say there are 5 people playing...

All 4 of them end up having to give me charity before my turn begins. I could realistically have 9 cards in my hand as long as I'm down to 5 by the END of my turn?

And if so, does this go for the new start of game rules? 8 cards to start..keep them until it is your turn?

Thanks,

Tom

Re: Charity question

Your example implies that charity only consists of a single card; that is not the case. In the right circumstances, you could wind up having a couple of dozen cards in your hand when you start your turn.

And yes, that goes for the beginning of the game as well.

Re: Charity question

I've had 12 cards in my hand in a Munchkin game, due to getting 2-3 cards in charity from every player at the table. And nearly all of 'em were the same freakin' class. :)
