Adding Expansions?
Hi, I'm fairly new to Munchkin and after playing a few games for the original I decided to buy an expansion. The store I went to didnt have 2 or 3 so I just bought Munchkin 4: The need for steed. Now, is this going to be a problem since I don't have at the moment(I'm planning to pick them up soon anyways)?
Also, exactly what do you do with these expansions(I know you add them to the original deck but do just keep adding expansion after expansion to a deck, because they're gonna be pretty big after adding a few more...)? thanks. |
Re: Adding Expansions?
I only had the first set and the third set for a long time. And so long as only one person (me) had a problem with there being only one Orc in play, everyone else was happy and we could use it just fine.
I now have the second set, but am not using it as I have discovered three--so far--errata and some are damaged. But as long as you want to use the expansions you may. And the point is to make the deck as big or small as you want. As soon as I have a corrected second set, I am putting all three together, and more than 6 players can play. :) |
Re: Adding Expansions?
You can be more selective with the cards of your deck. There's some cards that works very similar (Maybe exactly the same way) than others. Replace it for completely new cards, or change monster with similar ones but more powerful (I'll choose The Shadow Nose over The Floating Nose, for example).
I'll try to keep the same amount of cards than the one of Munchkin + Munchkin 2 + Munchkin 3 when all "Colours" game gets avaliable. See ya |
Re: Adding Expansions?
I just bought the original set and expansion 7. So no, you don't have to buy them in order.
And yes, you have the opportunity to have many cards in play. I've had games with three complete sets in play, which makes the game longer and awesomer, especially since we were playing epic munchkin. Good times. |

Re: Adding Expansions?
It's probably not a good idea to just mix More Good Cards directly into your deck unless you have a lot of other expansions. It even warns you about this in the instructions.
I only put about half of them in a Munchkin 1 + 3 deck, and it was still watered down too much. (Everyone had nothing but wandering monster cards and enhancers, and no monsters to even fight.) |
