Fire Extinguisher stats and effects in combat

I know there are several kinds of fire extinguishers, and obviously many sizes. I am wondering if anyone here knows a decent amount about the varieties, and what effects they actually have if you fire it at a person.

I'm also looking for behaviors (like do they just spray clouds, a beam of liquid, how far, and so on) that would have a bearing on how to define the targeting.

Finally, how do I stat one up as a weapon in GURPS? What effects would it have if sprayed? How do you rule it if used as a bludgeoning implement?

I ask because there's a good chance it'll come up in the next session I will run. I didn't see another thread about this anywhere, so I apologize if there's already a thread. I also didn't see stats in the basic set, but I could have missed them. If someone can point me to those, that would be good too. :)

Treat the fire extinguisher as a Liquid Projector (Sprayer). Going off the rules in High Tech and Ultra Tech, you have to hit the face to have any effect, but if you do, the victim gets a HT-3 roll, is stunned if they fail it, and is Blind for seconds equal to the margin of failure. I'm not aware of any official melee rules, but I'd treat it as an improvised small mace at -2 to skill use.

Depending on the type of extinguisher they might cause the Moderate Pain condition for a while.

I thought there were rules for extinguishers?

CO2 - noise and pathetic cloud of rapidly dispersing mist. Vision and Hearing affected.
Water - wetness. Vision, if eyes are hit.
Foam - like water but more persistent.
Dry Powder - face hits could cause choking.
Halon (might be banned) suffocation that doesn't heal.

Duration: small last 10 seconds, large 30 seconds.
DX-4 or Liquid Projector (Sprayer)
Effects: HT check or suffer MoF for 20-HT seconds. Or B405, half penalties if water or CO2.

Tip: if the fire is bigger than a bucket, run away.

And intense cold when used at close range (which is normal), causing potential frostbite and probable hypothermia. Also displaces oxygen, which means in a small area can result in partial asphyxiation.

That's a fantastic reference, and an amusing fire extinguisher scene. :)

I think I have the netflix that version of Casino Royale now.

Thanks for the replies all. I'll take a look in ultra tech too.
