GURPS 4th Campaign Types

Hello, this will be my first post as a registered user. I'm 14 years old and I've just bought the GURPS 4th Basic Set. So far I absolutely love the system.

I'm already wanting to take it to another level.

I want to start a campaign with some of my friends in the Medieval Fantasy setting, but I want to hear some other ideas before I incorporate my own.

Leave me some posts for some Campaign ideas.

Cheers,

Chromemagnus

Sorry, quick note: My brother created an amazing character sheet with Microsoft EXCEL, and if anyone wants to check it out look at my later posts in the thread.

Welcome.

I'd start by asking your players to describe the sort of character they have in mind, as he'd be 20 years or so from the point where the game will start.

This will more or less set out the sort of campaign that suits those characters.

Have them generate beginning versions of those idealized characters.

Once you have an idea who your PCs are it's easier to see where to take your game.

I've actually already had the PCs make their characters and I know how they'll meet and interact with each other (possibly a couple family related characters) and I'm just looking for the campaign idea for now.

But thank you very much, Captain-Captain for the suggestion.

What do you mean when you say Medieval? Realistic, cinematic, fantasy (heroic, high, low), Hollywood, technologically divergent: they're all very different.

What are the PCs that you have? Tell us about the PCs and I bet we could give you some ideas.

Well, all my PCs are Humans, and it's a pretty general setup.

We have a Warrior/Paladin, a Ranger, and a Mage.

I was thinking about a campaign starting out with the mages father/teacher (the father being the King of the Kingdom) and having him kidnapped, and the mage would seek out an amazing fighter (the paladin) to accompany him on his journey of finding his father. The paladin would suggest his brother (the ranger) as a navigator.

Good idea?
