Re: Meta: LOOKING FOR PLAYERS
It is said that parallel lines meet in infinity. But where do parallel worlds meet?
There is a place between the worlds. You generally get there through a door. Perhaps you find yourself lost in an unfamiliar city, or you lose your bearings and take a wrong turn. You see a door where you didn't think there was one before. You take a chance and enter. I'm getting ready to start up a new Horatio Club storyline and opening it up for new players. The campaign is based off the Horatio Club setting from GURPS Time Travel/Infinte Worlds; a kind of Gentleman's Club for trans-dimensional explorers. Previously in the game, we had... * A return to Skull Island, the home of King Kong, to race Nazis to a Lemurian treasure. * A trip to the Moon of Phobos to recover a stolen book, leading to a confrontation with an evil mastermind and a plastic menace. * A layover in the Bazaar at Deeva * A visit to Dead London under the dominion of the Martians, who have allied themselves with a certain Napoleon of Crime I'm open to pretty much any type of character, from any type of universe. Some of the ones we've had in the past include: * A zen super-hero * A hermaphordite lizard-boy * A hippie chick with plant-control powers * A Jonny Quest-type boy adventurer * A nightclub singer/bouncer from 1930s Hong Kong * The physical avatars of an astrological constellation As you can see, we've had power levels bouncing all over the place. Anyone who is interested, please send me a PM with a short description of your character idea. UPDATE: I think I have my empty slots filled now. Thanks, everybody who responded! |
Re: Meta: LOOKING FOR PLAYERS
So I am thinking about running some kind of Dungeon Fantasy Adventure here… I have two basic ideas. So here are my thoughts…
The first idea is a more traditional DFA story tentatively called Raiders of the Damned and is based somewhat are the Mirror of the Fire Demons (mostly some of the monsters and ideas, not the overall adventure though), and the Warhammer Fantasy adventure Mousillon, City of the Damned and the war game Mordheim. My idea is basically that the once capital city of the nation the heroes are in was destroyed some 500 years ago by a comet that corrupted the forest and lands around it. Those that survived (both people and animals) either fled the region or were twisted and driven insane by the corrupting forces of this comet. But there are still lots of lost wealth within the broken walls of this once great city. The heroes start in a small border/boom town on the edge of the dark forest that now surrounds the evil city, filled with all kinds of freakish monsters and creatures. The city itself is not uninhabited but now only the insane and the very evil reside here, preying on each other and hapless souls who foolish venture into the city seeking fame and future. Various groups in the boom town sponsored adventures to trek into the city to recovery various lost items of wealth, prestige or power. Our heroes are one such group… and of course looking for a sponsor. The other idea is much more ambitious and I am not 100% I want to try it BUT it has been bouncing around in my head for at least a year. I call it Rifts – Vampire Wars and it is loosely based on the Rifts idea of a great catastrophe that destroyed the old world (a place called Ærth) leaving a raved planet behind… but in my version this happened in 1880. My set up story is REALLY long so I will spare you it unless people are interested in what I am going for. Basically though I want to use DFA as the bases but add in firearms and clockwork stuff (TL5 + ^). NOTE I might just drop the guns and say that sure it was 1880 but firearms where never invented in this world. Everything else is still around TL TL5 + ^, so there is still lots of wackiness… mostly because I might now want to worry about guns in the game. I am sort of iffy on either side so might just see what other people think. Cybernetics will exists but in the form of Bone Etching (magical brands places onto the users skeleton structure), Golem Grafts (full conversion are referred to as Cog-Men, but include golem like parts granted onto humanoid bodies), and Magical Glands (living magical organisms that boost the recipients’ abilities). Alchemy allows for boosting of people also with some folk having implanted potion like reserves in their bodies or even their brains. And of course there is magic (not sure about psychics though.. got enough crazy stuff already I think). The game is set some 300 or more years after the Apocalypse, and 102 years after the formation of the Coalition States (a group of five city states that are fanatical anti-magic, human supremacist). It will start in the Pecos Empire, just south of the Coalition, in the dual city of El Paso/Ciudad Juarez on the Rio Grande River. The Pecos Empires are a loose confederation of petty bandit-kingdoms, where most of the intelligent races exist and are accepted as normal (sort of). They have very loosely banded together for mutual protection from the Coalition who are generally disliked if not despised by most of the residents (except those anti-magic, human supremacist that are found here). The Coalition state of the New Alchemist Republic (the northern panhandle of old Alchemist Republic of Texas) is just over the border from these badlands and they occasionally conduct raids into the Pecos (mostly as a counter to the raids by the Pecos bandits that raid into the Republic). The characters are a miss-mass of mercenaries, sellswords and never-do-wells that have been hired by a local oil merchant. He wants the group to escort a supply wagon train to one of his oil rigging station far out into the eastern badlands called the Arcane Zone. While the route and the oil rig itself are north of the Rio Grande, thus cutting it off from the Vampire Wastes to the south (the old Mexican empire which is overrun by vampires), bandits, violent humanoids and undead still infest the area. The route will wind through the Juarez Mountains and the Rio Grande Rift valley, and should take just over a week. Once there they might be assigned to extra work (with extra gold of course) as the station manager see fit. They of course will be assigned to make a return trip with a crude oil shipment bond for the refineries of El Paso. Now why call it the Vampire Wars? Well that will come into play later… That is what I got for right now. I don’t want to create a threat unless there is some interest. |

OK well I am just going to post a recruitment one below. I am going with the first idea only because it will be a bit easier to manage I think :)

Re: Meta: LOOKING FOR PLAYERS
NOTE: Roster is currently closed, but I'll note if more people are needed.
A wild idea appeared. I was just looking at this wonderful link here, with DF templates reduced to a pretty low level. So basically, what I had in mind was to give it a shot with PbP GM-ing once again and create and adventure with a couple of 100-point based characters using the very templates provided in the link above (kudos to Mr. Eric B. Smith, who wrote the whole thing). I'll be looking for 3-5 people, eventually six if this wakes up a lot of interest. The main story in a nutshell - all the characters would be either squires, apprentices or some kind of students of some already famous hero, trying to give it a shot with adventuring themselves. PM me if you're interested, and I'll make an OCC thread as soon as I get at least 3 mails. EDIT: Now that was fast. 3 PMs in cca 30 minutes. I'll write up the first post in OOC. I have the basic idea in mind, in the time I write up the full story, I guess everyone should have their characters done. Also, I guess I'll be using DF15 instead of the link I provided. See you in OOC! EDIT2: The OOC thread is up and is recruiting! EDIT3; Got 5 people REALLY fast here. I'd say the roster is closed, but if needed, I'll note here should it be necessary. |
Re: Meta: LOOKING FOR PLAYERS
Odysseys
Recruitment open!. A spot has opened up in the campaign. About the campaign. The party are all accomplished citizens who are summoned by the finest mage of your race (Boirer). He tells you about some brewing trouble in the near future in a letter. The meeting with the mage will be the start of the campaign. The world we’re playing in is a high fantasy one. It’s TL 4 without widespread guns and technology is shunned. There are many races who all interact with each other. Magic works with a modified ritual/threshold system. The campaign will be mostly social/mystery with a little bit of combat every now and then. The goal is to make your character “live” in the world so there is a big focus on character development and roleplaying. So I recommend an extensive background story, which of course will be rewarded. Please think of a reason why your character accept the proposal and it is fun if you come up with a goal that your character strives for. The characters. Characters are built on 250/-50/-5 + a reward for a background story. There are no powers and it’s mostly realistic stuff. You are chosen for some sort of skill you possess. Currently we have a Face-man, Arcane Researcher and an Arms Teacher/Scout. Other examples of characters are: Judge, Messenger from the gods, Soldier or Battle mage, Artist, Opera/Theatre player or even a Merchant. These are just suggestions If you’ve got another fun idea just ask if it’s an appropriate one(Most are okay, but no one ask a big criminal to defend his country). So if you are interested just let me know and I’ll answer any question you might still have (There is more information in the Ooc http://forums.sjgames.com/showthread...54#post1421354). I’m looking forward to your reply. Flameman |

SO FAR!
We have a zombie game starting. Game will take place in America in modern times, if not a year or two ahead. Game will take place in a town of about 160,000 people. The town will be set up in a square type layout. Streets will run north south a-z and east-west 1-150. So street names will be 10st and Avenue R. Players are shaping up to be 300 Cp but I might be leaning towards 350. game will be cinematic! More in the OOC, Check it out! players can range from normal people to soldiers, cops, doctors, preists, nerds, jocks, fathers, sons, daughters, and so on! This will be a zombie horror survival game, with twists mixed in! |

Re: Meta: LOOKING FOR PLAYERS
Opening an Infinite Worlds Campaign, Looking for players.
OK, thats a little vauge. Here's a better description: The campaign will be run in the infinite worlds setting with some changes. It will be mostly confined to "realistic" parralells, at least as far as the laws of physics go. Infinity will be somewhat darker, centrum a little lighter, and the players will be working for a third party. The campaign will spend a decent amount of time on the echoes messing with history. The campaign will center on the near east, from the Balkans to Egypt. Characters may have almost any background, including centrum, infinity, Reich-5, Shiaku-mon, Neanderthal, and alternates you came up with. Yrth, Merlin, and Caliph are legal places of origin, but involve high UB (20+, unless its just fluff). It will take a stellar background story to allow a cabalist in. All characters must be able to function at TL 8-2. More info will be placed in an OCC |

low cp zombie survival with premade charaters
I myself am in real life trying to give my friends an introductory GURPS zombie game, with pre-made characters.
I think maybe it would be cool to run this on PBP now so I could test the scenario and characters I made for them. So if anybody is up for a (probably quick) zombie game and don't mind premade chars then let me know. The game is going to be about a bunch of rather ordinary people encountering some Z-troubles on their vacation on tropical island, the purpose of the first session(IRL) is to find a transportation and get the hell out of there. Chars are 50 points with 25 additional disads. Mainly I'll equipped and incompetent :P. I'll try to pester people with fatigue rules and fright-checks so that there would be panic and mayhem. Ill post the premade chars soon. I have 7 premade chars. The adventure group will consist of 5 people, and I'm hoping at least three of them players. Others will be picked from same chars and stay NPC-s until the players chars get eaten. edit:http://www.smallfiles.org/download/4...raiso.rar.html In here are 7 charasheets in pdf format. |
Re: Meta: LOOKING FOR PLAYERS
Strange Neighbors is Still recruiting! we are always open.
This time I am looking to fill two specific positions: a mate on the ship, and the FTL pilot. Strange neighbors is set aboard humanities first FTL ship, and I have promised aliens, diplomacy, and combat! The posting rate is quite leisurely. each player gets a 200 point character and a 150 point character. (if you wish you can just take the 200, but play may move away from a specific character). one character is a "descision" character, and the other is a "front line character". UT is not required, or even "cannon". Spaceships is nice, but not necessary for players. PM me if you are interested! |

Re: Meta: LOOKING FOR PLAYERS
In an effort to get better at Gm'ing. I would like start a star wars game. I would like have it take place between The 2nd Death star and Thrawn. The events of return of the Jedi take place 4 years ABY and Thrawn is 9 ABY. So we could have a game in between that. I do not see much in ways of story there. I would like to do a game of a Imperial warlord trying to take power after the Death of the emperor and have the game end with thrawn showing up.
The game can have imps or rebels. The way I am wanting to run it, they would be forced to work together. The game would be Low on Jedi. The Story in Star wars only have 1 Jedi alive. Luke Skywalker. I will allow force adepts and grey jedi, but there are is no Jedi order. There would probably still be a lot of Hostility between rebel and Imps. What would you think? Any interest? |

I am thinking that the game would take place about 3 weeks after the destruction of the 2nd Death star. Peace talks between the rebels and the Imps are taking place. Surrender and people finally working together is starting to happen. Some Imperial warlords are turning out to be good and really seeking to better the galaxy. 1 Warlord named Moff Garren is not ok with this and implements some secret Imperial documents to find a Infinite Empire super weapon. To then use and finish the work of the Emperor. I would not be opposed to a Droid, but it will need to be fleshed out very well. Characters like IG88 are not going to fit in well. The players will likly need to be apart of the rebels or Imps. No free agents. |

Re: Meta: LOOKING FOR PLAYERS
Lost in Dreams is starting up.
This is a one person world jumping game centered around a character who can't control their world hopping abilities, and routinely ends up naked on new worlds. The emphasis is on roleplaying, with survival and exploration elements. Its about convincing the folk of Salem you know nothing about witch craft, Intimidating the barbaric orcs of Oggolug, dodging laser-wielding Nazis in Berlin, and wooing the lovely daughter of the clans-chief. Post in the OCC if you're interested. Only one person can play in a game, but I may be able to run a couple versions. |
Re: Meta: LOOKING FOR PLAYERS
I peeked the lost in dreams games going on. Really good work I must say. Are they the result of your question thread "what makes a good PBP-game?"?
Color me interested in your future games. |
Re: Meta: LOOKING FOR PLAYERS
So I have been running a star wars game on RPOL.net and it has been taking off with out a hitch. I would like to run the same game and story here with some difference.
Here is the Teaser Tag: "The Galaxy has gone through a war between the Empire and the Rebellion. There is still a lot of Imperial fleets and high ranking officers. There are 7 that are in favor of rebuilding the Republic. There 7 Moffs(this is like the Highest ranked general) are all in peace talks with the Rebel Alliance. Things are going well. Mon Mothma, the leader of the Rebel Alliance, is making great headway with the Moffs to re-create the Senate and rebuild the Republic. However 1 Moff, Moff Garren does not agree with these peace talks. He has set about to destroy and assassinate the newly formed senate as well as the rebel leader and steal one of the greatest kept secrets in the Empire." Here are some notes about the game... 1. It bends Cannon to damn well breaking it. If you are a hardcore fan boi you will not like it. 2. It will be low on the Jedi/Sith side. As in Players will be very limited as Jedi's. This is because at this point in the star wars universe there are only 4 known Jedi/sith, and 3 of them are dead. 3. The Beginning part will be a little bit railed with the decisions of the party changing the objectives that come right after the intro. So if you feel railed and do not like it, just hold out for a little bit. If you do not like that at all and you can't be a little patient, this might not be for you. Here are some Character creation guidlines: You are some of the best people at what you do. You are skilled and trained. Players start at 400 CP. Try to make your characters with good advantages that would define your type of player. A Slicer would have lots of advantages that define a hacker as well as the skills back it up. There are no templates so really try to define and chisel out your character. There is a -50 cp disadvantage limit. At least 100 Points must be spent in skills. You will be using these skills and will be required to face the out comes of them. While I won't make you use skills to walk and breath, you will need skills to do things like shoot, pilot, slice(star wars hacking), be a doctor, ETC. If fail rolls you fail rolls. The consequences will come and the group need to deal with them. Everyone will need to identify with either the Rebels or the Imperials. No ifs, ands, or Buts about it. Also you must roll play it out. Imps and Rebels just got done with the war and Rebels just embarrassingly defeated the imps for the second time... Turns in combat. At the beginning of combat we will take everyone's speed and average it out. This will be done to the opposition as well, what ever side has the higher average speed will go first. Then all players that are on that side will take their turn. Once everyone has done so, the other side will go. forbidden Advantages. Static- This in a star wars game applies to force users. This can only be taken as a racial. No one is natural force static unless it is a racial thing. For example, Yuzon Vong are Force Static as well as Cheron, and Ysmalri. Unkillable Hard to kill/subdue past level 2. Tech Level is 11. exclude all Nano tech of any kind. All guns are blasters or modified forms of them use the Blasers on page 123 of ultra tech as you guide. Plasma weapons are acceptable. Anti-partical weapons are allowed, but are Illegal and require license to own and operate out side of the military. Trandoshans have a gun called Stooker Concussion Rifle. Treat as a Force Rifle on page 129 of Ultra tech. This gun can not be parried by a lightsaber. Conventional weapons are allowed. Gas powered air guns are allowed. Electro magnetic Guns are allowed, but they are rare, because they are old. Also most armor at this time can stop electromagnetic weapons. Gyrocs and Missile launchers are allowed. Any other weapons and gear must come from the Ultra tech book and be TL11 or lower. The Galaxy has just been through a war. It is very unlikely that there are higher tech levels. Cloaking of any kind is not allowed. Cloaking Technology has not yet been miniaturized. Active Camo falls under this as well. All Gear must be cleared with the GM before it can be used. All gear is subject to approval and might be denied and blocked for any reason. Note... Lightsabers are almost exclusively Jedi/Sith only. Most other force wielding groups or cults did not have them. If you have one you will need to explain where you go it from and your training. If you are untrained on a lightsaber you can not use one. If you attempt to use one, you will be maimed or killed. Posting rate will be at least every other day. This is going to be strict we need to keep the game moving. If you fail to post in 48 hours i will post for you and give out a warning. If you hit 3 warnings your out. Also Light sabers are like Force swords but instead of the Armor Divisor of (5) it will be (10). also no barbarian characters this is starwars people are smart and have technology. I.E. Sand people are not stupid... Be creative. I have never seen anyone play a hutt before... Things that will not tolerated... If/and statments. Choose what your going to do and stick with it. If you post a "if This happens I do this, or If it dosen't I do this," I will ask you to edit it and make up your mind. Meta Gaming: Things said in OCC do not carry over to IC. If No one tells you something that is said in OCC in IC, your character does not know it. If you act on something you do not know you will be warned. Also if I tell something to someone and not to the others, you can not act on it in any fashion. I will try to help you out by keeping things private that need to be, but it is also up to you to behave yourself. 3 warnings and your out. God Modding: You do not control other people. IF you try to influence others you will need rolls and the skills to do so. You control your self and no one else. Not even the NPCs or the Gm characters. Purposeful drama: We are all here to have fun and enjoy each other. Lets try to cooperate and work together. Lets try to resolve conflict with each other civilly and with respect. Tell me what you think? |

This game isn't so much about roleplaying as it is about creating and fighting cool character concepts. Its meant to expand the concept of magic as powers, and to watch larger than life champions duke it out. Its very much pvp with a moderator, though I may end up playing a few duels myself. The theme is mythic, it has the point budget of supers, but at TL 3. People wanting to play will submit champions and then champions will be selected to duel. |
Re: Meta: LOOKING FOR PLAYERS
THE OLD ONES SLEEP NO MORE.
I am thinking of starting a Pbp game here using the setting I made for another game on a different website (check game finder). its a Dark Fantasy setting, with some horror in the mix, set in a mostly TL 3 world. the players are new recruits in a secret organization called "The Shadow Watch" that fight the creatures of the night and from beyond. game play is more about solving the mysteries presented than beating up baddies, If you ever watched an episode of the T.V. show Supernatural you would then know how the game will be. something weird is going on in a town, you go there and find clues as to what it is, and you "fix it". players would only be human, would be using divine favor and RPM. If I get enough PM for interest I will open a OC thread. |

Re: Meta: LOOKING FOR PLAYERS
The Princess of Algeron:
I'm going to be running a one shot fantasy game on the forum. Its planned to be plot heavy sword and sorcery with some heroic and low fantasy elements. The basic premise of the story is stopping the marriage alliance of two kingdoms by kidnapping the bride. Despite the character's role as the kidnappers, they should be fairly heroic, or at least lovable rouges Characters are built on 175 points. per and will are purchased separately from IQ. I suggest building characters who can fight, but are as good at subterfuge as at battle. You will not be able to win many of your fights without being sneaky. Disadvantages are by approval only. remember we need heroes and lovable rouges who start as mercenaries kidnapping a princess. magic is magic as powers. Mind control is not available to anyone, and healing is extremely limited. wizards will tend to be quite expensive, though lesser witches will not be. Tracking spells are moderate strength, combat magic is powerful. (innate attacks are limited to 2d in most cases though). At least one very powerful mage will be in the game, and as an opponent. Magic items are very rare, and count as gadgets in most cases. available races are
Characters should have a mercenary background: Patrons are discouraged. Other races exist, but are not part of the local political system. Ariel Calvary exists (hippogriffs), Nobility runs the place, but soldiers are paid (so knights aren't the main calvary, though the heavy calvary certainly looks the part). TL is 4, but without gunpowder. Literacy is low. PM if you're interested. |

CSI: Modern day fantasy edition
I'm going to running a campaign I had an idea for a long time. A modern day fantasy with a twist. Everyone knows about the more fantastical elements of the world and have even included them into their society. PCs will act as a special forces unit specialized in dealing with crimes related to the more magical side of society. PCs are built with 150 points, magic is the same as the one in basic. Pm if interested, I will make an OOC with more information of the world if enough people show interest |

Villains:
Looking for a game about some super-villains in a world with heroes much more powerful than they are. Due to this, there will be a great deal of emphasis on avoiding direct confrontation with the most powerful heroes. Cooperation between PCs not assumed; players willing to take initiative strongly preferred; will happily fudge time so that no one is waiting when the party gets split (or never manages to agree to cooperate in the first place). |

I have an idea for a game where Fantasy Is reality and takes place 500,000 years in the future. system is gurps 4e
Imagine the world Solaria,as earth. everything earth had, solaria has. Governments, people groups, history, Religion, everything. but now throw in all the fantasy lore you could think of.... The year is 502,013 A.D. the Order of the Paladins is barely hanging on to control of the gang wars in Bradenhall. Bradenhall a massive city state is on the brink of Civil War. West Bradenhall is against East Bradenhall and their embrace of the gangs. All out war has taken place in the middle of the city state in a place called "The Dirt". This is a mile wide 500 mile long trench of destruction. But something is about happen, that is from Solaria's past that will rock the very foundations of the world. Will the Paladin order be able to stand against this old darkness? or will the World of Solaria sink into oblivion. Somethings should have never been forgotten... Players will play Paladins. Not as in the sense of like WoW paladins but almost like judges in Judge Dredd. They are high powered, highly trained cops that really almost answer to no one. A lot of people do not like the paladin order. Players can be any race from Fantasy or Dungeon Fantasy, IF it would make sense that the race survived that long. For example, wildman race is out, They would not have made it into the tech age. Players will be 500 point characters. They are expected to be Paladins and have extensive training. So highly skilled. Players can be cyborgs, have cybernetics, anything from High tech to TL 12 is allowed and I mean anything. So what do you all think? |
Re: Meta: LOOKING FOR PLAYERS
Space Merchant has had several players drop out and is looking to recruit. see the OCC opening post for more details.

Re: Meta: LOOKING FOR PLAYERS
I'm looking to create a sample spaceships combat. This will be a pure combat scenario at TL10^ with a limited budget and ship selection (from the extended spaceships line only).
I have never run any spaceships combat, and am happy to either sponsor and GM this or participate as a player, wargame style. PM me if you're interested. |
Re: Meta: LOOKING FOR PLAYERS
Day 1 is starting up.
This is a revamp of a zombie game. It will be more realistic and more focused on survival and Rp then Combat. “The day is quite and easy. Nothing is strange or weird. All is well, until the all hell breaks loose. The world comes to a grinding halt. The dead rise and rampage across the world. The Earth is gone as we knew it. Now it up to you to survive just one day at a time.” |
Re: Meta: LOOKING FOR PLAYERS
Players wanted for my Odysseys campaign.
There was a recent drop in players so there is room for some extra. If you are interested in a mystery and problem solving fantasy campaign then this is something for you. There are more details in the OOC and the IC Let me know if you are interested, if there are no extra players then I have to close down the campaign. |
Re: Meta: LOOKING FOR PLAYERS
I am interested. Is there a link? (Yeah, I have not yet gone back in the thread to see if I can find one).

Re: Meta: LOOKING FOR PLAYERS
Worlds of Fire is currently standing one hand short. The player in question hasn't logged in for two weeks, and hasn't posted at all in a month. I've had no contact, so I don't know how serious this is or anything like that, but I'm trying to keep things moving.
I have one place available in the game. The first couple of posts in the OOC thread deal with the standard character notes. The only major request at this point is for someone who has at least one point in Cartography. Aside from that some kind of backstory of how you ended up in a position where you could be dropped in (working for one of the Harbours, etc) and a decent idea of the character's overall abilities is what I ask for. PM me with any ideas and I'll try to get back as soon as I can. I'm also open to the idea of a local character rather than a world-jumper, and I've got a couple of ideas in for that as well. I will also recommend reading one of the most useful threads on the forum. |
Re: Meta: LOOKING FOR PLAYERS
Looking to possibly add more players to the Day series.
Currently on Day 2 of zombie survival. Come check out the OCC for character creation! if your Intersted shoot me a PM! |
Re: Meta: LOOKING FOR PLAYERS
Looking to run a low dark horror fantasy game using RPM and Divine favor. plenty of plot twists with what I have in mind.
A town with a dark past that is surrounded by stories of mysterious woods and ghost. you learn that something is going to happen in 9 days but do not know what. you must find out what it is and stop it if you can. One person is dead already, but it was written off as an accident. Solve the riddle without causing panic or being found out, you are all wanted for murder in one town or another (not your fault the monsters killed people...). Dark days are coming... characters created on 125/-50/-5 PM if interested. |
Re: Meta: LOOKING FOR PLAYERS
OR
Combat oriented fantasy game using imbuements. You just joined an organization that host a world wide tournament that never ends. Fight to obtain a higher rank and become a legend! Starting point total will be 150/-25/-5 |
Re: Meta: LOOKING FOR PLAYERS
I'll have time to PBM next week, but after that only sporadically. Any games willing to take me onboard with this proviso?
|
Re: Meta: LOOKING FOR PLAYERS
I would take a look at Lost in Dreams' OCC. It's perfect for that sort of thing.
|
Re: Meta: LOOKING FOR PLAYERS
The Stranger Land campaign is in sandbox mode and looking for 2-3 new players. Your characters would be natives, not immigrants, to this world so the character restrictions would be a little different, but the first page of the thread should give you the general idea.
PM me with your interest and notions and I'll fill in the particulars. |
Re: Meta: LOOKING FOR PLAYERS

Re: Meta: LOOKING FOR PLAYERS
Sins of the Crusades
It is the year of our lord 1092, the Empire of Rome is under threat and the Princes of Constantinople Intrigue behind its great walls. GM expectations - My intent is to give it a drama and intrigue, with bouts of violence which escalates as Alexius gets his house in order. I plan to adopt the narrative to what you guys have in mind. Finally a Chance to use GURPS Crusades, Constantinople, Mass Combat, City Stats, and a lot of Low Tech. |

Lost in dreams is recruiting! (as always)
A fairly normal person finds themselves naked and alone in strange worlds, taken by a seemingly uncontrollable jumper affect tied to dreams. The game focuses on social aspects, but does include action. The rate of play doesn't matter: these are one person campaigns. |
Re: Meta: LOOKING FOR PLAYERS
Agents of SUPER
Gritty Supers / Psi / Mysteries / Y2K With the approach of the new millennium, people have begun getting powers. Is it aliens? Government experiments? Black magic? No one can agree on an explanation. Fear runs high. Enter the PCs: government agents with supernormal powers, assembled to help deal with the simmering crisis... |
Re: Meta: LOOKING FOR PLAYERS
IN NOMINE
Low Key Game starting with 4 force humans, and relievers. Wanting to play through the transformation into a Soldier, or a full fledged angel. I'll be giving doubled XP awards at firsts to speed up ones fledging. I might also have room for an ethereal. |
Re: Meta: LOOKING FOR PLAYERS
GURPS OF THE DEAD: When deranged crime lord Hector Elizes unleashes a short-lived mutagenic virus, thousands of people in the little town of freemont become infected, becoming murderous monsters of mass mutilation. You, along with the few remaining survivors have banded together for the fight of your lives... and stop Hector's evil plot!
It's a b-rate zombie-flick parody, with all the blood and gore expected in it... Grindhouse-style. The game'll be a lot slower than my other ones... I'm in need of a player or two more... |
Sentinels of Freeport
Sentinels of Freeport is a Monster Hunters game set in the fictional city of Freeport. Freeport is an eastern coastal city in the US, center of shipping, industry and some tourism. It is also the center of a certain degree of supernatural happenings and home to a chapter of Vigilae Luminis. Characters will take the part of members or freelance associates of Vigilae Luminis, and will form a team to investigate, engage, and deal with supernatural threats in the Freeport area.
I'm seeking up to 4 players. Thanks for looking! |
Re: Meta: LOOKING FOR PLAYERS

Re: Meta: LOOKING FOR PLAYERS
Would anybody be interested in (Wu)Xia style campaign in ancient pseudo China.
It would start relatively low powered with some chambara options - but the advancement in CP should be rather fast and with options to buy several cinematic and options as perks in game etc. (The idea of gaining new kewl advantages and for this finding new masters and quests would be one of the key driving elements of the campaign. ) Obligatory starting story would be 2-3 close firends/siblings etc. that are grown up on the road under the protection and tutelage of a traveling monk and are now currently on the move to receive training in healing arts in exotic monastery. Sense of duty to this small group is obligatory, also some kind of Xia COH will be enforced (our adventurers should be the good guys). I haven't decided the precise CP and disad numbers but right now are thinking in the range of 150 cp + 50 disad +5 quirks (COH, and SOD not counting for limit). Skills and advantages available: at the creation: all unarmed combat skills are available as well as staff and sling and throwing art techniques and combos can also be bought all esoteric skills except invisibility art are available Rules for chambara movement from MA are automatically enforced from get go. That means jumping distances in combat are automatically assumed to have running start, acrobatic movement roll penalties are halved. From the get go PC can buy tehniques for flying and acrobatic attacks that remove move and attack maneuver to hit cap. Rules for buying successes are in play. At character creation CP-s can be left for such exact purpose. during play: other chambara options like trading attacks for movement, +3 to all retreats etc. can be bought in play as extra option perks after suitable in game justification. (training, quest, blessing etc.) same goes for invisibility art and exotic/supernatural abilities like healing or innate attack (those need to be bought with chi modifier.) Also other perks for cinematic options and rules exceptions, unusual training etc. might be negotiated to be bought during play - the idea is to start small but get bigger than life in reasonable time (with suitable training montage in the background.) |
Re: Meta: LOOKING FOR PLAYERS
Space Ruins is recruiting!
Space ruins is about a very talented team that searches precusor sites in search of ancient technology. Challanges will include making the tech do stuff, surviving defenses left by the precursors, and fending off less scrupulous rivals (or sometimes more scrupulous rivals). This is space opera with a decent amount of safe tech, high super-science, and no psionics. Characters are built on 250 points. |
