GURPS Dungeon Fantasy 8: Treasure Tables

Silver and gold coins:
What could be better than that?
Let Riggsby show you!
— Some hack
E23 just released GURPS Dungeon Fantasy 8: Treasure Tables, the latest in the GURPS Dungeon Fantasy lineup. At 64 pages, it's the series' biggest item yet! Which is fitting, because it describes loot, where more is usually better. This is old-school table-rolling goodness, my friends. It covers everything from bits of rope, ordinary sticks, and some dead guy's boots . . . through finery, silverware, and luxury commodities . . . to Artifacts o' Power™. What's perhaps coolest is that it addresses modifying items: they can be intricately shaped and stylized, made of remarkable materials, bejewelled, enchanted, supernaturally embellished, and possibly even cursed. So if you've always wanted a fine, icy tempered-glass broadsword, set with peridot and etched with a squid motif, that chimes when swung . . . well, now you have a tiny chance of finding one at random, and can easily work out the price to commission one (if the GM and the Squid Gods let you!).

Fabulous, Kromm!! Can't wait to get it! Thanks again for this (marvelous) series of pdfs!
And I'm a big fan of that Riggsby Hack.

Bought it and scanned it over lunch. I have to say that there are a *lot* of really good ideas in there. I'll be using this this Saturday. Boring treasure no more!

Perused it at lunch too. Pretty neat, it's definitely one of the best DF to date. This just screams for a web-based game-aid to automatically generate loot.

Two things I'd love to see:

The new items from Chapter 3, organized as a separate inventory. Delvers should be able to buy this stuff in town, and it'd be helpful it were organized without all the "see some other book" references for duplicate items.

A list of EVERY item in the book, with weight, dollar value, and page reference.

Re: GURPS Dungeon Fantasy 8: Treasure Tables

OK, so I generated a random treasure:

A 3.5 carat Moonstone, the surface of which seems to looks like Rolling Clouds, the bearer is immune to Lightning.

Question: The Enchantment roll gave me a Regenerating Reserve and Resist Lightning (always on) Defense Enchantment with a Reserve of 12. Resist Lightning costs 2 to cast and 1 to maintain, and the Regenerating Reserve recharges as per a Powerstone (1 per day in Normal Mana).
How is the the Always On supposed to interact with the Reserve? - Surely the item is permanently self powering so the Reserve would be irrelevant.

Nice item, and yes the Rolling Clouds Embellishment and the Resist Lightning were both randomly rolled!

A flying gazebo. They're even more dangerous than originally thought!

Oh man, it's not fair! How are us between-gainful-employment types supposed to get by without this?

There's plenty of e23 stuff on my to-buy list (the entire Spaceships line for starters)....but I think I'll have to get this first and worry about the bill later :)
