POLL: How are you playing GURPS?

How are you playing GURPS?

(1) Online, gamers you know from FtF games
(2) Online, mixed gamers you know FtF, others only through the web
(3) FtF, gamers you've been gaming with for many years
(4) FtF, mixed gamers you've been gaming with for many years and some newcomers
(5) FtF, relatively new FtF gaming group

edit:
(6) Online, only gamers known through the web

If you choose more than one, please state whether each choice represents a different gaming group, or whether all the choices represent different modes of play for a single group.

*Reading Forum Abbreviations* Ahh - FtF = Face to Face

I am not playing GURPS. Sadly I have not found a pro GURPS group in my area of Chicagoland yet. If there is anyone out there who would like to introduce me to one...

The last GURPS game I was in was #4; some newcomers, some playing for years.

At this very moment, option 2.

I suppose, honestly, it should be said I am now playing option 1, but that's because the web-only people were lost to busy schedules. I do, however, regularly game with people I've never seen face-to-face. I do also game quite a bit Face to Face, but most of the people around here that I game with aren't big fans of GURPS.

I'm a man of two nations. I grew up state-side, then married a Dutch girl and went overseas. As a result, I have a Dutch group I play with, the American group I maintain ties with, and friends I make online whom I invite to my online games with my American group.

Interestingly, I used to view online gaming as a hassle, a less-than-ideal situation I was forced into by my circumstances. However, over time, I've come to miss having all of my PDFs and the vast power of my computer immediately at my fingertips as I'm running an FtF game, or playing with an interactive tabletop like MapTool.

Right now, 3. Though tonight is a prospectus night.

Very slowly.

I'd say 3. That is, there always seems to be at least one new person in my circle of players. Both my current campaigns are GURPS, and two of the three I'm starting next year will be GURPS also.

As above, but only because there is one bloke I have actually met face-to-face in one of my groups.

Is there some reason that you do not allow the answer "Online, gamers you know only through the web"?

I would choose 2a, i.e. online with people I know only through the webz. That's two groups, both monthly games.

Then there's two groups of face to face people, all of which I have gamed with in other games before. Some of the same people are in both games, but not all of them.

Oh, that should be one option. Make it (6).

It might be a good idea to edit your original post.
