At TL9 the Fusion Rocket has a minimum size limit of SM+9. I'm guessing your ship is smaller than that.

D'oh! How did I miss that?

Re: GURPS Spaceships Design Spreadsheet

Hi Eric,

I seem to have found an issue where some of my saved ships get corrupted and load up with most of the modules being shown as ERROR! I'm not totally sure what circumstances cause this to happen though. This is with the latest rc10 Excel 2000 version.

Can I email you the file and see if you might know what causes this bug? I'm not concerned about recovering the data.

Cheers!

I can't save ships at all. LibreOffice crashes every time I try it.

Please do. I have a good idea what the problem is, but would need to take a look to try to find out for sure. Also, if the ships are from an earlier version of the file (RC9 or whatever) if you could send me that version of the file I'd appreciate it as well.

Unfortunately, the OpenOffice version suffers from some memory issues in newer forks of OpenOffice. I've done some rewriting of the Macros to fix that, but I haven't managed to port everything over to OpenOffice yet.

I'm using The OOo version with that portable build you suggest, and something weird has started happening: For some reason the costs of compents are no longer showing up on the Design Table. Fuel and Ammo costs are appearing where they should be and are being added as they should, but not the costs of the system themselves for some reason

Hi all

I cannot access eric's site to get a copy of the spaceships spreadsheet. Is it hosted anywhere else?

Cheers
Brian

Having a problem with the program (2007 No Macro). The drop-down menu for ship SM doesn't seem to be working (nothing happens when I click on it). It works properly in protected view but once I enable editing it stops doing anything. As far as I'm aware I haven't altered the file at all other than removing protected view.

Hi, I'm using the the most current version of your spreadsheet using excel 2007 and I've noticed a problem with the output for damage for some of the weapons, not all. It seems random which ones are right or wrong. Instead of a damage roll (say 8d6x20(2)) it gives me a number (1000(2)) or something like that.

BTW, any chance we will be seeing a newer version of the spreadsheet for open office any time soon? I still prefer that over excel.

That shouldn't be possible, as damage is always looked up on a table so it should only ever pull up a value from the table. I'd need to see an actual example ship (or, at least, know the TL, SM, Weapon Mount size, etc).

Development stalled on that last year and I never did get back to it. I've thought about it, recently even, but became frustrated with it. At some point I'll probably dive in and do it, but "soon"? Probably not soon.
