Did you add a Habitat system, or just choose from the Habitat modules table?

First, make sure you've got the latest version of the spreadsheet from my website (v1.29). Second, as ciaran_skye said, make sure you add a Habitat System to the Ship Systems before adding Habitat Modules to the ship. If you don't have a Habitat System installed the Black background error will pop up, and you wouldn't be able to select Location, but you should have no problem selecting modules themselves - there shouldn't be any spreadsheet Error Messages poping up, and certainly no lockup/crashes, merely the Black background which I use for an in-sheet error indicator.

Im using those from the first page. (f.e. http://gurpsland.no-ip.org/zip/Spaceships-Ooo.zip). You should have version number on the first page of the sheet, because i cant see what version i am using. here is a print screen:

The version posted on my webpage is always the most recent version, and the version number is located in the upper right hand of the main Design Table in the spreadsheet. From the image you posted I can see that you are using v1.29.

It also looks like you're using a version of windows where the regional settings are different (comma's in place of decimal points), which could be the root cause of your problems with regards to crashing and errors. I've seen these kinds of problems crop up with GCA and regional settings; I'm afraid I'm not well versed on resolving them. Can you try changing your regional settings to US English standards to see if that clears it up?

I didn't see the version number. I looked at the wrong page :). Yes, the problem was caused by regional settings.

Edit: one more thing. im trying to build TL9 SM+6 spacecraft, and when i add control room to core section, it says that it has C6 computer. Did i miss something, or should it be C5 (C7-2 for TL9)?

Just a couple of quick notes:

I can't find ornithoptor wings anywhere in the design table.

Also, how hard would it be to add dome kind of option allowing you to adjust cabins and other habitat options sizes depending on the SM of the race the cabins are designed for?

Another thought I had is how about as a way to include reduced sized systems, have an optional version of the design table that has 60 systems instead of the usual 20? Each system would be from a ship 1 SM smaller.

Just a thought.

They're in there, under Propulsion Systems. I believe they're TL5+2, meaning you either need to choose that TL or check the box Don't Filter available systems by TL.

That may be doable, though there currently aren't any official rules for it.

Not practical in the current sheet. In the Version 2.0, which I did some work on months ago, I've got both Smaller SM and Reconfigurable Systems working fine; however the rest of the sheet needs a lot of work which I haven't had time to get working (in rebuilding the sheet I broke a *LOT* of things that need fixing).

Thanks, I assumed the TL 5+2 stuff would also appear with TL 10^.
I think I read a suggested progression of x2 for SM+1, x5 for SM+2, x10 for SM+3, etc... somewhere in one of the books.
