Big Items
Is the rule that you can only carry one Big item, or only equip one big item?
For example, if i had the Huge Rock equipped, could I carry the Tuba of Charm, or would I have to keep it in my hand or sell it? |
Re: Big Items
Only one big item down period, using it or not, unless you have a card that lets you otherwise.

Re: Big Items
Alright.
My group's been playing this wrong for a while... |
Re: Big Items
Unless you're a Dwarf or have a Hireling or use Cheat! or . . .
But yes, the basic rule is "only one Big item in play at a time." |
Re: Big Items
So.. what happens if you want to play another big item?
Do you discard the big item currently in play? or it goes back to your hand? |

Re: Big Items
why do you cant discard item at any time?
as you can say at anytime "ok i'm not an elf/warrior/dwarf" and drop your race/class i think you at any came can unwear/discard any item but yes you didn't have legal way to return item to your hand from play |
Re: Big Items
No, you can not discard an Item just because you want to. The rules tell you that you can discard a Class or Race at any time, but nowhere do they tell you that you can discard an Item at any time. You must trade it, sell it, or discard it in some way that's legal. Check out the FAQ, the Et Cetera section, last question, where I wrote out quite a nice explanation of what you can do with Items with respect to discarding. Here's a link to the section: http://www.worldofmunchkin.com/faq/#etc

Re: Big Items
Here's a side question. Can you temporarily play two Big items to the table in order to immediately sell or trade them? The idea being you drop it out of your "hand" (whatever metaphor represents that) or the treasure pile, directly into the hands of a trader, without ever carrying it around or benefiting from it.
Our group allows that, since we specifically require (non-one-shot) items to hit the table before selling or trading, so that others have an opportunity to destroy them before they move. This would otherwise prevent you from trading a dwarf several Big items, or selling them efficiently for levels. So are we wrong in allowing high-volume Big trades, or wrong in preventing people from trading directly from their hands? |
Re: Big Items
You're not allowed to trade directly from your hand; that's in the rules. So is the ability to sell from your hand. So, no, you're not "wrong" to disallow trading from the hand, but you are "wrong" to disallow selling from the hand.
I say "wrong," because I'm going from an official rules standpoint, but since we're talking about house rules, they can't be wrong as long as you know that they are house rules. So, what this means is that you can't play out a second Big Item to trade it because you can only carry (i.e., have in play) one Big Item without some form of sanctioned rule breakage (Cheat!, Hireling, Dwarf, etc.) |
