Estimated Release Date?
 

Hey there,

I was looking at getting into heavy gear over the summer with some friends, but am I hesitant to get the 3e rules with 4e coming around the corner. Are you able to provide a speculative release date at this point?

Nothing we can talk about yet. Watch the Daily Illuminator -- when we have more info on movement, we'll broadcast it there first.

They do not like to estimate such things. My guess is that they do not know what the priority will be later as I assume these things change quite a bit over time. If you look at VDS getting put on hold they do not know if that will happen with any project until it happens. I think a better question might be what stage in the process it is. They may not answer that either but it is more likely to get answered I think.

Getting delayed and coming out late are things I expect and am use to (I'm a palladium fan). Being told it's been delayed or such doesn't bother me one bit, I just like hearing an estimated date (even if it's off by a year or more).

They said somewhere that it'll be released when it's ready. Best time to release any product tbh.

I'm looking forward to the playtest. Best way to help make the game awesome is to be in the playtest.

I'm a diehard GURPS fan, but I have a soft spot in my heart for Heavy Gear. I've got all but the army list books for Heavy Gear, and multiple copies of some of those books. I even had an extra soft-bound rule book that I gave to Rev. Pee Kitty so he'd have an idea what the game was like and about.

If I can't get in the play test, they'll want him.

Not a big GURPS fan but that's mostly because I'm not a huge point buy fan (Though I don't mind it in HG). But I've got some spare cash coming soon (an opening in my gaming line) and I want this stuff to come out so I can buy it.

I know I'm impatient and that it's probably not at the point where they can say with certainty about when it's coming but damn I want info (even if it's just a guess to the year it's coming).
