Take DR with Tough Skin and Temporary Disadvantage: Berserk. :)

Some stuff just has to be done the hard way.

Hmm, do the same with a level of Temperature Tolerance, and of course you'd need Switchable...and it's perk-priced with the bonus that while you're ragin', you don't feel the cold. And unlike DR, TT is not an exotic advantage.

Well, sure. But I always thought that barbarianish DR is more appropriate. Remember that between Telegraphic Attacks of the enemy and the lack of Active Defenses, you WILL be hit. And I think that once you're in TD-taking territory, you're allowed X advantages anyway.

I think that there's no actual rules saying you aren't allowed X advantages. ;)

X advantages are just fine for fantasy and cyberpunk games anyways, depending on the explanations behind them and world assumptions. It's doubtful you'll see many "successful" berserkers in the real world, unless they have a high HP and high ST -- to be able to utterly destroy any enemy they strike and last longer, you see.

True, the X mark is a note to GMs. It basically means that such traits require more levels of GM Permission than other traits.

Oh, and Berserker should probably cost -15 or even -20, as now we have Telegraphic Attacks which are essentially free bonuses against berserkers.

I ordered mine yesterday. Now the long wait for e23 to get accept my paypal.

Can't wait to read it

*edit* Got mine. I'm certainly going to bestow some of these to the characters of my current campaign.

I'm thinking No Physical Damage page 11 for our "fighter", Accent page 12 for our "ranger", Patience of Job pg 13 for our "wizard", and finally Clothing Shticks Cloak for our flamboyant "thief"

Got mine as well.

The best thing is, strangely, that there's a lot of perks not included in this book. This means that ANOTHER ONE is expected, with another 22 pages of great stuff!

No, I'd say that now that we have Telegraphic Attack, Berserk is fairly priced. Before that, it was a way to get something close to Supernatural Durability for negative cost.

Well, so far I don't see people willing to buy Berserk (12) for [-15], even in low-tech. In high-tech, where a failed Active Defense usually means slow bleeding death, people don't even talk about it because it's no longer even a heroic death.

BTW, did I understand correctly that it is not possible to buy a Perk which grants switchable Berserk. If so, why? It's probably the prime candidate for those 1-pt Advantages bought just to be able to switch it and its Temporary Disadvantages back in the age when there were no switchable disadvantage perks.
