Df?

Does anyone know just how long the Dungeon Fantasy series is going for? Is there any possibility of it being compiled into a hardcover?

As long as it continues to sell, I suppose. Kromm has mentioned working on a DF4 and that there are proposals in from at least two potential other authors.

Nothing has been publically ruled either in or out, though Phil recently mentioned that he isn't wildly in favor of compilations.

None in hardcover, and minimal in softcovers. The possibility of the individual projects seeing a POD release is good, though.

I can't see DF stopping until sales go from "fairly nice" to "only 10 guys in a basement in Berzerkistan buy it."

... you know, of all the people I would not want to annoy, 10 guys living in one basement in Berzerkistan might actually be nearish the top of my list.

Just sayin' I don't want them camped out on MY doorstep.

For those of you (like me) who plan on binding all your DF series together in one volume (either hard or soft cover) I went through and put together a master index of all three volumes. That way I can stick that in the back the compilation. I sent the file to Collective Restraint on Sunday, and he said he'd put it up on his site sometime this week for all the world to have. I know he has been busy though, but it will get out to you guys.

So if sales start to slump, we just need to send one more person to Berzerkistan...

It is online now. Thanks Gavynn!

Should we really be doing business with Berzerkistan?

Clearly, you are a very practical person with foresight.

Good on ya, Bruno,

Wait.

He's going to be putting up a compilation of three books, that go for cash, for free, on his site?

Isn't there some legality issues here?

EDIT: Oh, I think I got it.

I r not tech savvy

No, he's going to be putting up a master index on his site. Read more carefully, please.

Just download his Master Index on my site in the Files section. You'll see what it is.

Re: Df?

Well the index is nice (and THANK YOU!), but if we are going to keep in the tradition of the genre, at least the recent tradition (how old does something have to be to be a tradition?), we will need to see the line end soon and the new DUNGEON FANTASY 2.0 rules released. Only few weeks later we will need the 3.0 rules, then 3.0 Revised, and 48 hours later 3.5 ... <grin>

4th edition will be out by the end of 2008 at that rate. It does sound familiar though...

And at some point, they'll switch from it being GM-oriented to it being player-oriented.
