DF2 - Debasing coin and the consequences of failure
My players are obviously meant for a DF game.
The first question I heard from one of my players this saturday was "If I get caught debasing coin and the Kings men stick my hand in molten silver... do I get to keep the silver? How much is it worth?" |
Re: DF2 - Debasing coin and the consequences of failure
Somehow, I doubt that if you get your hand dipped in molten silver, you'll end up with a silver-plated hand. More like a silver-specked scorched stump.
But, yeah, your players seem made for Dungeon-delving. |

Re: DF2 - Debasing coin and the consequences of failure
Some of my favorite questions from WOTC's "Ask Wizards" column. Feel free to cast these into "You might be a Dungeon Fantasy crawler if..." form.
Gilbert asks: It states in the Player's Handbook that a monk's fists can do up to 2d8 damage. Can one dismember the fists and use them as improvised weapons for the same damage? Kyle asks: How much damage can a vorpal longbow do? Tom asks: Do the rules for drowning apply if the PC is submerged in a tank of healing potion without access to air? Joe asks: Can a water elemental surround a vampire and prevent it from moving? Morgan asks: I have a unicorn with class levels in paladin. Since a unicorn is already equine, what should I do with its ability to gain a paladin's mount? Would it be a horse/etc., that simply follows him around? Devin asks: Let's say my master of many forms PC turns into an ooze. My PC is then hit by a slashing or electricity attack [which makes an ooze divide into two oozes]. What happens? Do I now have two characters? Alex asks: Can I hire several hundred 1st-level mages, keep them inside multiple bags of holding (with bottles of air, of course) and use them as participants in a ritual spell? Joey asks: I have a campaign that is extremely epic, and I have been looking everywhere for this but can't find the answer. What would be the break DC of a planet? http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/dnd/20070401a |
Re: DF2 - Debasing coin and the consequences of failure
Let them keep the silvered stump if they pay off the King's men. I'd say it's the equivalent of brass knuckles with the "silver" weapon option . . . lessee, that's $30 for a silver-coated stump, or $200 to go "Norse god" and get the whole silver hand. It won't work as a hand, they'll still be crippled, but it'll be useful for slugging werewolves upside the head.
