Ignoring Armor once and for all.

How do you model an ability that lets you injure people and ignore their armor. Not by going through it, but when you hit them, it kind of pretends the armor isn't there.

Something like an initial attack that does no wounding or damaging, and then a follow-up attack that injures the target for whatever the initial damage dice was regardless of if damage penetrated, wounding mod and all.

Possible?

Malediction Enhancement B106, on an innate attack?

Cosmic: Irresistable Attack.

Why it ignores armor is a special effect. You can say it ignores their armor all together. Or it burrows through it. How it does it is just a special effect. It could be a psychic squeeze, or teleporting an object into their body.

Unfortunately, this is apparently not the case. Armor with the Hardened enhancement apparently reduces Cosmic: Irresistable Attack as well as other damage divisors.

Do you have a source for that? Seems to fly in the face of the principle of Cosmic.

Yeah. A cosmically irresistable god casting down lighting on a tank would work less? Doesn't sound right.

Now I could see Cosmic attached to hardened doing something, but irresistable isn't an armor piercer, its going around it. Is there a way to accomplish this without using cosmic?

I agree one hundred percent, and I house-ruled it in my campaigns. However, it's apparently official. See http://forums.sjgames.com/showpost.p...6&postcount=16 , for example.

Sounds like that broken spell "wraith strike" in DnD.

I would seriously doubt the veracity of that unless it came directly from Kromm in the forums. Anyone can do that.

And, it's not like Kromm hasn't admitted to being wrong before (this is only relevant in that it shows Kromm admitting a change needs to be made).

There, is, however, presedent, in Hardened in Damage Resistance on Characters p47.
However, that doesn't mesh with the description of the Cosmic power modifier from Powers on pg 21.
