Anyone playing The Fantasy Trip?
 

Hi there, I used to play and am still a big fan of the old Metagaming/Steve Jackson tabletop RPG called The Fantasy Trip. But I'm still new. I was wondering if anyone out there still played it? I think it's an excellent gaming system, and I rather enjoy it. Thanks!

There is also a Steve Jackson Games Discord server, which includes TFT channels, but invitations are disabled so I don't know how you get on it.

Can't say how many are playing these days but certainly those that do seem pretty active.
I think the face-to-face days of olde are gone and have been largely replaced by VTT like Roll20. So, while our numbers may not be great enough to put us within reach geographically our enjoyment and loyalty to the system keeps us playing.

Now if you are questioning if anyone is still playing the "old" Metagaming version? the answer is yes?.... The current version of ITL is basically the same as the 80s version, just a bit tweeked here and there.

My wife and I play a two-player game almost every week. Usually play Barbarians of Lemuria, but we also play TFT from time to time. Those are our two go-to game systems.

I started with TFT back in the late 70s, and my wife started playing it with me in the 90s. Still like it. My wife prefers BoL, but will play TFT if I ask her nicely.

I play my main campaign once a week with religious consistency over the last several years, and a second that I just launched last fall with a group that gets together once a month.

I'm in two weekly TFT groups. The one I GM started in 2018, and the other I joined a few years ago. TFT is a great system.
