She'll also use both Hidden Lore (Sorcery) and Naturalist (World of Haunden) to see if she can figure out the significance of the birds, especially crows--could be a natural or supernatural reason, or both.

EDIT: Rolled 5 under base skill on both rolls.

They could be leaving a lot of food behind... a couple of rituals require things like sacrificed mice. They could be mind-controlling the birds. Or it could be a weird curse-like effect on one of the sorcerers.

How far in travel time does Anoras think the local Venasir Castle is?

Also about what time of day is it now, i.e. how long until sundown?

Holidor (the castle) is about 10 hours journey away. Its currently about noon.

You scouted their locations, and then raided the right spot. You are returning home with a pair of slaughtered goats, produce of the land your parents and grandparents grew up on....

I must admit I'm confused on the timing. If it would take us about 10 hours to get there, presumably it would have taken us that long or longer while bringing back a pair of slaughtered goats. Then we were checking on things, battling a skeleton, doing first aid, etc, after traveling for 10 or more hours....

So did we do our attack early the previous night, then start traveling back at night? If so, we're probably very tired right now. Unless I'm missing something.

"Well like if it's 10 hours we don't need two weeks after all! Ones more than plenty! Uh, I don't have any siege engines and we don't have enough folks to build a ramp"

The raid was a multi-day trip, so it happened two nights ago. The goats were taken from an area between you and Holidor, so you weren't carrying them before.

You're right, you've lost some sleep... I wasn't counting that in the name of having a good clean start to the scenario.

Hopefully that makes sense?

That makes sense--thanks! Sometimes my imagination runs off in its own direction....

So should we figure that we have enough sleep to go after the raiders now? If so, we might be better doing that instead of waiting for Fenian.

OoC: Agreed. If we aren't dealing with lack of sleep, let's go now.

Thad considers the options before them. "Let's supply ourselves and leave immediately. We have no time to waste. Surely no one will withhold rations from us for such a mission."

OoC: A 6 on my reaction roll. Looks like I'll be driven out of town with nothing! A little more tact could have been handy...

Thad returns from the grieving villagers, now wailing with renewed vigor, with a sheepish look. "I was... unsuccessful at securing provisions. Perhaps someone else could try?"

OOC (All this post is OOC):

I've never been able to use the dice log for this game without logging in more than once. I just logged in over a dozen (12) times and still haven't been able to get to the log for this game. So, for now at least, I stopped trying.

From before (to get rations):

"OCC: (Rolled 13 on Fast-Talk base skill 15)"

Perhaps the GM can check and make certain that was my roll, as I'm not finding rolls for the Haunden game. If that is sufficient to get us food, maybe we can leave now.

Personally, I would love to have had Fenian played by a player, especially because of the interaction of Fenian and Anoras. That would have been my first choice.

But as Fenian is now an NPC, and as waiting for the NPC Fenian will delay us getting to the next part of the adventure, if we're rested enough I'd personally prefer we get moving as soon as we reasonably can.

Re: Warriors of Haunden (IC)

Thad is turned away for coming across as rude and demanding.

Anoras is able to get a bunch of food for the trip though, enough for four people for five days (20 days of food).

Two votes is sufficient to start the journey, though Cassandra could try to do something... you start off back towards Holidor. Are you tracking or going strait for the Castle? What is your marching order? If tracking, please give me a roll. You may of course do the first little bit quite quickly. You've got at least a +8 to the roll (+6 from following a group, +2 from the distinctiveness of the skeletons)

(To be certain if our friends and enemies are going to the castle or not, Anoras rolled 10 on Tracking)

Anoras (speaking to the others): "It is no secret that you are more capable in fighting than I. But neither is it a secret that I am more skilled in the ways of knowledge. So as the brain is protected by the skull, so I believe I should be in the middle in our order of marching. And as Thad has the protective amulet I made, I would suggest Thad goes first, and Cassandra protect our group from the rear.

"Also keep in mind that I know the spoken and written language, and the culture, of the Venasir as well as a Venasir native. So when we encounter them, do not be surprised if I act as if I am Venasir and you are my enemies. Or, perhaps, act as if you are my friends who have decided to join the Venasir."

OOC: GM: In our world, the concept of the brain being the center of thinking existed in TL 2, but not everywhere. So if here it would be thought to be the heart, Anoras' statement could be "So as the heart is protected by the ribs...."

OOC: Fellow players: I specifically designed Anoras to be able to pass as a Venasir. If you have ideas on how that can be used, I'm fully open to suggestions.
