Re: Warriors of Haunden (IC)

TURN 25
Allied Archer fires at glaive (from 5) and steps back to 6
-6 (range) +3 (acc) = -3... a roll of 12 is just barely a miss!
Cassandra quick-draws and nocks her arrow and steps back to 10
Fireballs aims (2 seconds)
enemy archer #3 aims (2 seconds)
Enemy archers #1 and #2 aim
Flanking archer #1 aims
Flanking archer #2 fails fast draw (rolled 15) and draws an arrow
7 skeletons at 7 yards to front
Enemy Warriors (3) and Wings at 12 yards to front
Horseman and three allied warriors step back to 6 yards back
Four allied warriors are 12 yards to your left. They will arrive to reinforce your main line.

TURN 26
Allied Archer fast draws and nocks arrow and steps back to 7.
Cassandra steps back to 11 and aims
Fireballs aims (3 seconds)
enemy archer #3 aims (3 seconds)
Enemy archers #1 and #2 aim (2 seconds)
Flanking archer #1 aims (2 seconds)
Flanking archer #2 nocks arrow
7 skeletons at 3 yards to front (10 yards from battleline)
Enemy Warriors (3) and Wings at 8 yards to front (15 yards from battleline)
Horseman and three allied warriors step back to 7 yards back
Four allied warriors are 8 yards to your left. They will arrive to reinforce your main line.

TURN 27
Allied Archer steps back to 8 (what we will now call the battleline) and aims.
Cassandra shoots at wings again and steps back to 12
Skill 16 - 6 (range) +3 (acc) vs 10 is a potential hit!
Wings rolls a 3 and blocks the arrow.
Fireballs flings a ball of fire at cassanrda
-10 (range) + 4 (ground) + 3 (aiming) = -3 ... a roll of 12 is a miss.
enemy archer #3 shoots at glaive
Enemy archers #1 and #2 aim (3 seconds)
Flanking archer #1 aims (3 seconds)
Flanking archer #2 aims
7 skeletons at 8 yards from battleline
Enemy Warriors (3) and Wings at 12 yards from battleline
Horseman and three allied warriors are at what we're now calling the battleline
Four allied warriors are 4 yards to your left. They will arrive to reinforce your main line.

The battlelines have closed. We are about to see if the skeletons are any good, and if the men of Holidor can defeat such monsters.

Can you do a post with the recentered ranges now that are vs battleline instead of the original zero point?

Anoras and her crew wake up in the morning and head for Holidor. Gerrund especially is nervous approaching the fort.

As you approach the fort, you hear horns blown, indicating some sort of battle is about to be joined.

Re: Warriors of Haunden (IC)

The Battleline is 108 yards from the treeline where the enemy archers and fireball is. one skeleton is with them with a sword and shield, as is Thad*

The 4 skeletons (club and sheild, one sword and shield, two spear and sheild) are advancing in a line 8 yards from the battleline

The enemy warriors (spear and shield, sword and shield, glaive) and wings (shield and mace) are in a line 13 yards from the battleline

The reinforcing allied warriors (two spear and shields, glaive, sword and shield) are 4 yards from joining the battleline from the left

The flanking archers are 100 yards to the left of the battleline

The allied warriors (two glaives and a sword and shield), horseman, and archer form the battleline

Cassandra is 4 yards behind the battleline

Summarizing damage so far:
  • One sword skeleton is 9 HP down... come to think of this, that means its with the archers, not attacking*
  • One spear skeleton is down 4 HP
  • Thad's skeleton is down 15 HP*
  • Allied glaive in battle line is down 8 HP
  • Enemy glaive is down 8 HP
  • Fireballs is down 7 HP
*So I missed that these skeletons were below HP/3, and thus can't have participated in the charge. the enemy glaive and fireballs seem to both be above HP/3 still, though its really close. This actually make the fight a lot easier, and you did most that damage in earlier fights, so well done.

Also, the damage exchange seems to be favorable to your side so far.

Now I get what you did. You put Cassandra in our future so Kalzazz wouldn't have to wait on us, and you could join the party back together! Clever idea!

And a question. Does anyone in our party have a build similar to that of Stripes?

(Trying to avoid playing out-of-character knowledge that I actually know what's going on). I'm thinking Anoras would figure the Wings/Fireball group would be the attackers. And she would hope Holidor accepted Cassandra to join their ranks.

Anoras (speaking to the Haunden in Haunden): "Everyone, don't wander off! But please look for the attackers. The sorcerers Wings and Fireball would be wearing appropriate masks. And also look for Cassandra who hopefully is able to fight for Holidor!"

Anoras (speaking to the Venasir in Venasir): "If you try to escape in the battle, both Holidor and Haunden will be after you. If you cooperate, I can speak for you to the authorities in Holidor. Remember, I'm the speaker who was able to convince Stripes!"

Re: Warriors of Haunden (IC)

So one giant skeleton other than Thad and 3 regular size? Weren't there 7 at one point?

Cassandra will try again to take a shot at Wings, doing steps to move up from 4 back to 2 back

1 - fast draw and load
2 - aim Wings, step to 3 back
3 - step to 2 back

Is her plan

If her player understands the ranges correctly, and if Wings behaves as she expects and continues advancing, she'll be 7 away when she fires so -3 for range, +3 for aim, but before he is actually locked in melee

Lets see, you have two women, a young boy, and an old man. and rolling... Gerrund doesn't have Wing's build. No, you do not. But that's a slick idea.

Anoras has inside information of them planning to do exactly that, so yeah.

Anoras and her troops look around for battle, but they don't see it. Its probably behind a rise or stand of trees. They could head towards the horn itself, or they could head for the castle.

Re: Warriors of Haunden (IC)

As Anoras has people for battle, and a horn is typically blown by the defender to draw help....

Anoras (speaking in Haunden): "Prepare for battle and let's head toward the horn!"

Re: Warriors of Haunden (IC)

TURN 28
Allied Archer fires at glaive and steps back to 1 behind the battle line
-4 (range) +3 (acc) = -1 vs 8 is a hit,
but a dodge of 8 gets the big warrior out of the way (still has full dodge by 1 damage)
Cassandra fast draws and nocks an arrow and steps forward towards the battle line (3).
Fireballs summons a ball of fire.
enemy archer #3 drops an arrow
Enemy archers #1 and #2 shoot at the allied glaives .. rolled 7 and 13, -5 to skill, one potential hit!
dodge fails by 1 (10 vs. 11) the warrior takes 2 damage for 4 injury. no stunning or knockdown.
Flanking archer #1 shoots an enemy glaive ... a 15 is a bad miss.
Flanking archer #2 aims (2 seconds)
4 skeletons at 4 yards from battleline
Enemy Warriors (3) and Wings at 8 yards from battleline
Horseman and three allied warriors are at what we're now calling the battleline. four more allied warriors join the line. They roll soldier... a 14 is a failure! the "Battle-line" is a mess with clumps and gaps!

TURN 29
Allied Archer fast draws and nocks an arrow
Cassandra steps forward to 2 behind the battle line an aims at wings
Fireball and the allied archers, and the damaged skeletons start moving towards the main battle. They are at 104 yards away.
Flanking archer #1 oberserves surroundings and situation.
Flanking archer #2 aims (3 seconds)
4 skeletons move into contact with the battleline. They are outnumbered by 4, but they all move and attack! Three of them could hit (wow nice rolls) but the enemy dodges everything except the critical! 5 damage (1d6+1) is rolled, the armor takes three, and the allied glaive takes 4 more damage, moving to a total of 12.
Enemy Warriors (3) and Wings at 4 yards from battleline
The battle-line remains a mess! (soldier roll 14)
The allied glaive stumbles back behind the battleline, bleeding and struggling to stand (moves 1 yard back), 0 HP.
(Reinforce Spear, Reinforce-glaive, Horseman, and Sword) attack (spear-club-sword-spear) ... shockingly, everyone rolls over 10, but hits anyways. The skeletons block everything but the reinforcing glaive's attack... Only a single point of damage gets through (it was a thrust, because Glaive wants to block)

Damage Summary:
  • One sword skeleton is 9 HP down
  • first spear skeleton is down 4 HP
  • Club skeleton is down 1 HP
  • Thad's skeleton is down 15 HP
  • Allied glaive in battle line is down 12 HP
  • Enemy glaive is down 8 HP
  • Fireballs is down 7 HP

They move towards the sound of the horn. Gerrund only has move 3, and they have prisoners. And the boy only has a rock.

Gerrund: "Perhaps we should split up. You are quick and trained for battle. I am slow now, and the other two not trained for battle. Perhaps you should run ahead."
