Illusions are in the eye of the beholder
 
Edit: In this variant ...



Images and Illusions vanish the moment they are out of line of sight of an IQ 3+ observer. So you can summon an illusion into a shadow hex that you are adjacent to, but as soon as nobody is next to the shadow hex it goes poof.

This also limits image/illusion scouts to no more than one corner down the path.

How did you choose IQ 3?

If anything I think this is generous,. Illusions and images can't fall down a pit unless the caster knows the pit is there. As I see it they shouldn't be able to see a monster the caster can't see either. I wouldn't make them self-disassemble, but they wouldn't be very useful out of range of the caster's senses. Not that I've actually written the rules for this.
