Two Weapons talent's double parry
The "Two Weapons" talent states, "on any turn he attacks, to do any one of the following" and one of the following is "(c) parry with both weapons, adding an extra die to attempts to hit you and stopping 4 points of damage from any successful attack, but not threatening the enemy."
Which option does the engaged fighter choose to do the above? Attack or Defend? It states "attack" but it seems odd that an attack has no attack component as both swords are parrying? Then if it is Defend and you have a Fencing Master (who gets Two Weapons when fencing), this means when he double parries he get 3 additional dice and 4 damage reduced. On top of the DX -3 to hit him already. Seems this has to be an attack. What do you think? |

The double parry is 4/DX to be hit while stopping 4 extra hits. The fencer defend is 5/DX to be hit but 0 extra hits stopped. I have to check if this actually applies to the straight Two Weapons talent. I know that the fencer has these options. It's a toss up as to which is better. One has to have a feel for the DX and damage dealt by their opponent. For high damage weapons, I would recommend the full defend 5/DX option. Stopping 4 extra hits against a battle axe at 4/DX may not be enough but the chances of hitting on 5/DX are usually low. |

The master fencer with two weapons that defends (thus uses the double parry) gets 2 extra dice (6 dice for foe), DX -3 (for foe), and -4 damage. Thankfully it does not include an extra die from the double parry. |
