Big bad evil guy actually; same difference. And the meaning is the main recurring antagonist of a campaign, not just a bad guy who is big and evil.

I don't see CF in the master list. Seems to apply to costs or comparisons of modifiers. Did I miss it?

That's because it's from the books rather than being online slang; it means Cost Factor. Basically you add all the Cost Factors up and multiply an item's GURPS $ price by the result so CF+1 means doubling a price, CF+2 means tripling the price, and a total CF of +3 means quadrupling the price whether achieved through three +1s, a +1 and a +2, or a single +3.

Is there an official abbreviation for 4e books? The official page seems to have only a couple of the 4e books.

The official line is other the basic set 4e does NOT use abbreviations for book references to avoid confusion

Yep, they were dropped for good reason.

Thus something like Transhuman Space: Martial Arts 2100 might have been called Transhuman Space: Martial Arts, but then how do you refer to it in an abbreviated fashion?
  • "For weapons a bioroid warrior might use, see pp. 212-232 of Martial Arts and pp. 32-34 of Martial Arts 2100." -- reads pretty well.
  • "For weapons a bioroid warrior might use, see pp. 212-232 of GURPS Martial Arts and pp. 32-34 of Transhuman Space: Martial Arts." -- accurate (if that were the book's name), but clunkier.
  • "For weapons a bioroid warrior might use, see pp. 212-232 of Martial Arts and pp. 32-34 of Martial Arts." -- Uh-oh... we have a problem.

Speaking as a fan, I remember the tail end of the Third Edition era, and occasionally running into arcane abbreviations that took me out of the book as my brain tried to decipher what they were cross-referencing with. It may take up a smidge more room, but the current system is much friendlier (IMO).

From a recent query about Bio-Tech quirks and meta-traits:

The [P] most likely stands for "Physical", while the [X] probably means "Exotic". Not sure why they didn't use the symbols from the Basic Set, but I suspect a layout editing issue.

I believe I've also seen an "[M]" in a book of the same vintage for Mental traits; I forget how they handled Paranormal traits, though, if they had any in books of that vintage.

Maybe you could/should add:
RAI: Rules as intended; as opposed to RAW.

The idea of the rule, which may not actually same as the rule effect the game?

I've seen KYOS (Know Your Own Strength) enough times that it might be justified to add it.
