You scouted their locations, and then raided the right spot. You are returning home with a pair of slaughtered goats, produce of the land your parents and grandparents grew up on.

I'm really confused by the first two paragraphs of your first IC post. You said that the Haunden of Wetterhod was founded two generations ago, when the Venasir first drove them out of the fertile lowlands. That they sought to hide from the Vennasir. But apparently the Heads of the Village's thinks it is wise to send a raiding party to the nearest Vennasir settlement to remind them that the Haunden are still around. An after gaining a mere two dead goats as their plunder. They return home leaving a path to where they had started their raid from.

And you find a scene reminiscent of those terrible days your parents and grandparents talk about. A number of houses have been lit on fire. A lot of the settlement is walled up in the fort. But you can tell a lot of your friends, neighbors, and family have been slain or wounded. More are missing.
Walled up into WHAT fort??? I asked if there was a log palisade wall around the village. You said no, it was wide open.

Does the fire look liable to spread? Or should we leave that to the survivors and pursue immediately?

There is a irragation ditch right there. So it wouldn't be that hard to put it out.

Here's my yet unfinished map of Wetterhod.

I just checked my PC's CS for the first time in a while. This is third time I have attempted to have these changes made to it. Below is what I wrote in my post in msg # 64

In message #61 you wrote 'They include a sack to carry them, but not a backpack. You are $10 over with the listed gear. You can spend a point on signature gear if you want more cash--- though that will need to come from exiting points.'

That is exactly what I wanted to do with those 4 points. (Gained by lowering Axe/Mace Skill from 15 to 14) Covering the $10 Fenian was over. Then get the Rope and Canoe I asked about getting before. Perhaps also an actual Backpack as well.

"Hide" here is short term, not long term. They Venasir are very aware that there is a Haunden village somewhere up in the hills. The Venasir can find it if they go searching for it, but doing so would alert the village (or so wetterhod thought), and they'd be fighting in woods they don't know very well. They know if they attack unless things go just right the Haunden will just scatter and find a new location.

Basically, yes. The raiding has been going on for a while, intentionally being annoying but not egregious. Tracking is hard and not something the Venasir are often good at. (Three generations ago, you weren't good at it either). If you want to not grab a couple of goats, you can say so. It won't change what happened here (for in-game reasons, and your clues as to why are already there). It might possibly maybe slightly effect things later.

I suppose I said "Maybe a small one everyone barely fits into". That "Maybe" is now a reality.

The fires look moderately isolated, but that could change.

I hadn't seen an announcement here that the game had begun. But I just saw another thread where it looks like it has. So I'll check that.

Re: Warriors of Haunden

A few questions for the GM:

1) How do we roll dice on skills so both the player and GM can see the rolls?

2) Now that the game has started, how much background can we make up? For example, "But you can tell a lot of your friends, neighbors, and family have been slain or wounded. More are missing." I don't think I specified who Aganu's family and friends are. Aganu would certainly want to check on them--but who are they? Would you prefer I come up with names and basic descriptions, or would you prefer to do that?

3) How close to our home are we?

Thanks!
