They ask what it is, and Julian mimes out attacking soldiers. They all run for the village, shouting.

People start sticking their heads out out homes.

Suddenly, a massive vasic light switches on the front of the ship.

Why'd they turn it on now? This... is really bad.

I run after them.

Everyone starts running... some are looking for hiding places, others are headed for the dunes outside of the village.

The ship is faster than a person can run, but its slowing down. Julian hears faint yelling coming from it. Ropes are dropped down from the ship, and warriors in armor and cloaks are dropping down them. One warrior jumps from the ship itself, a massive 50 foot leap. He summons wind to slow and cusion his fall, his clothing seemingly designed for such behavior. Julian can feel the magic doing so -- its not entirely unlike telekinesis.

The soldiers don't seem particuarly interested in people, but they do seem interested in food, gathering it up and taking it back to the ship. They seem to be helping themselves to a choice item or two as well.

As I run for a place to hide, I recall what Reslin said...

These people are operating openly, so there's no secret. Should be no trouble if no one stops them from taking what they want...

I find this to be of little comfort.

Is he hiding in the houses, in the gardens, or in the sand?

Well, I was going with whatever presented itself/was closer, but if it's all equal,

I go back to where I hid a few days ago. It feels safe somehow.

Julian's back in his hiding spot.

The men mostly go into the village.

Julian hears shouting, and then he understands some of it: its in the riask langauge:

"Get the men grabbing water. That's what we need most."

Its a man just a few yards from his hiding spot.

Well, I suppose that could mean that they need water, so they need to stop the people carrying it off, or they're after the people who make it rain... Probably the first.

I hold my breath and wait.

Re: (IC) Lost in Dreams (Julian)

Shortly afterwards Julian sees soldiers hauling barrels of water back to the ship.

After a short flurry of activity, the ship leaves. People begin to emerge from their hiding places.

Some go to bed. Some talk. Julian notices on person counting.

And his magic sense picks up something similar to telepathy, coming from near the center of the town.

He has indistinct nightmares all night, but in the morning, he is still there, as everyone gathers for the morning rain.

I'm briefly thankful given how easy it is to replace water when you can call rain, but then I worry that it might be difficult to replace the barrels...

Must be worried someone fled.

Well, I haven't noticed anything like that around here... I poke around near the centre of town. Maybe I can find this person.

If Julian can't,
With Astropic speaking, I call out "Hello?"

I feel briefly upset, that they just move on like nothing happens. But this isn't unusual for them, is it? People coming along, taking stuff, and leaving in a hurry.

I try to ask people what's going to happen with the people who stole the water. Does anything like this happen often?
