Re: (IC) Lost in Dreams (Julian)

The fruit comes off to TK. Its a small fruit, but good. Picking several more isn't an issue.

Julian tries to find a good spot in the garden to hide. Its not too hard: the plants grow lush and green. As long as he doesn't stand up and they don't come to harvest or weed or check on this area, he'll be fine. (rolled a 10 for stealth, and I'm basing it off IQ... which actually increases the margin of success).

How long will he stay there? what will he do while he waits?

I'll stay there until it's night again. I'll kill time drawing the plants around.

Drawing plants... interesting.

At some point we'll have to arrange for the diary to pick up more pages... or maybe he writes and draws tiny to conserve paper.

He stays hidden until nightfall. The people make it rain in a few more places afterwards, and then go out to do more normal tasks. Or so Julian thinks from the magic he senses.

When does he get up? what does he do?

We could say that he got more paper in the diary back on Panogos or Koru...

Pick up my rug, wander into the desert for maybe and hour, and then loop back around and head back to town. When I get back I'll make no effort to hide. If I see any groups of people, I'll try to get attention and express that I need help. If not, I'll stop somewhere in the middle of town and settle down until the morning.

I've been imagining a composition notebook... what does the diary look like

(and yeah, Panogos could add paper to a composition notebook)

Julian meets a date farmer, who is quite surprised to see him. He asks some questions in a language Julian doesn't understand. Something about where he came from out in the desert.

I had half a mind the meta-effects of Signature Gear were literally true in the context of the game (i.e. like signature ammo auto-replenishing, the diary inexplicably just grows more pages). That might be too weird for this setting. But yeah a composition notebook is about what I was thinking. Given the page count of the backstory/log diary, the book is probably enormous to begin with. A doubling on size probably will last for a while.

I point in the general direction of the underground house (I'm probably not very accurate). I'll try to get across that I'm willing to work.

The man understands you came from out in the desert. He's confused by your clothes though. You shouldn't work in those clothes. And you should be coming from a different directions. And you should know the names "Demian" or "Nazor".

I shrug. "Lost, not from around here."

He asks you where your money bag is. Or you water bottle. Or your caravan. Or your camel. Or your servant? This all seems to distress him.

Finally he asks for a name.

I briefly consider that letting him think I'm much wealthier than I actually am might be a big problem. I imitate how the stone guard I saw earlier moved and let him draw his own conclusions.

"Julian", I say pointing at myself. Then I ask for his name, pointing at him.
