Re: SID's Star Wars Campaign (OOC)
Our new colleagues are polishing their characters and it'll take a bit longer to finish. So we're resuming IC.

Re: SID's Star Wars Campaign (OOC)
Hey! SID invited me, a random person, to sign up for this. If any of this backstory is, like, weird, I can adjust it, I haven't been engaged with Star Wars material all that recently so I might be forgetting how things work.
N5-K10 rolled off an assembly line, alike in every way to their fellow N5 sentry droids manufactured for the New Republic. Unit K10 was assigned to be a personal bodyguard (supplementary to the Senate Guard) of Senator Sebasin, a human senator from the planet Bespin. Sebasin seemed to consider the droid's awkwardness and deadpan observations quite amusing, while N5-K10 grew to sympathize with the human's frustrations with his work; Sebasin was part of the Senate Intelligence Committee that was investigating reports of the threat of the First Order, and as nearly the only dissenting voice advocating decisive action, he felt helpless to do his duty to protect the Republic. Sebasin refrained from following through with the regular memory-wipes for N5-K10 (or "Kio" as he called them) and their friendly relationship developed over the multiple years that they worked together. A few weeks before the First Order made their final attack against the New Republic, Senator Sebasin traveled on a starship from Hosnian Prime to Bespin, with Kio as his shadow per usual plus a squad of Senate Guards. Unbeknownst to the others aboard, several of these guards were in fact First Order infiltrators intent on silencing one of those senators that could be politically dangerous to the Order if they survived the destruction of the New Republic capital. N5-K10 dutifully interposed themselves between their charge and the assassins, but took a critical blow to their power supply before they could neutralize more than one assassin. After murdering the Senator, the assassins sabotaged the starship's hyperdrive, sending the evidence, including Kio's powerless body, somewhere in deep space in the Outer Rim. It would be decades before Kio again saw the light of day. Eventually a group of freelance salvagers detected the abandoned derelict and stripped it of anything of value, including the damaged security droid next to the skeleton in the passenger's cabin. They took the salvage to the nearest planet and prepared it for sale, including restoring the security droid; after all, it was essentially intact other than the blaster hole in the torso armor and badly-melted power supply. N5-K10's systems, perhaps by the mechanic's laxity towards safety or just by strange luck, sparked to life as soon as the new power supply was installed. Kio, still heartbroken by the violent loss of a friend, nonetheless knew that their first goal should be to report their failure to their superiors in the New Republic and receive new orders. When the salvage crew attempted to stop Kio from leaving their warehouse-turned-workshop to find a secure Holonet connection, Kio quickly identified a nearby pry bar as the approximate size and shape of a regulation stun baton, and used it to enhance their argument that the salvagers were in unlawful possession of New Republic property and obstructing government business. (Nobody died, but one or more bones may have been broken to make a point.) Upon syncing with the Holonet, Kio learned a couple of important facts: first, that their internal clock was somewhat off and they were years late with their report, but also that there was no one to report to. The New Republic capital on Hosnian Prime, and by extension the Senatorial Security Force's legal records of ownership of N5-K10, had long since been reduced to atoms by the superweapon at Starkiller Base. It was exceedingly unlikely that anyone with the ability to produce the security codes to give Kio a valid new assignment would ever appear. Kio was left with only one hard-coded directive that they could still follow: Preserve your own functionality in readiness for orders. At a loss for options, Kio was forced to apply a significant degree of creativity to the problem of survival. They've been fortunate enough to find paying mercenary work, largely among the Galaxy's criminal underworld, and have encountered the full spectrum of camaraderie and villainy that organics and droids have to offer outside of the security droid's once-tightly circumscribed existence. Now, one person, the rodian smuggler Tridma Dreggok, whose previous rocky friendship with Kio has involved all parts of that spectrum, has contacted the mercenary droid with a distress call. Her panicked communication has brought N5-K10 to the Accretion and into brief but fruitful contact with the Slavenepo-Goda, indicating that they must seek out a one-eyed doctor, an ewok, and an astromech droid if they want to find answers to what has happened. Re: SID's Star Wars Campaign (OOC)
Hello! This is your fellow Ewok Bibingui and her faithful droid Purrito, welcome! It seems to me that you have an interesting past, so let's start this adventure together, comrade!ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ

Re: SID's Star Wars Campaign (OOC)
@Punkin, look! People are already testing prothesis that could help your Bibngui, she'll be one step closer to becoming like captain knuckles!

Re: SID's Star Wars Campaign (OOC)
Guys we have to get out of here, does anyone have any ideas?(^人^)
I think we should look for an emergency exit |
Re: SID's Star Wars Campaign (OOC)
At the risk of overplaying a gimmick, it occurs to me that, with a 'saber in hand, any wall is an emergency exit. Though depending on the thickness and material an existing exit may be faster.
|
Re: SID's Star Wars Campaign (OOC)
Both options sound good, the walls of the bus do have a lot of DR; but certainly, you could break faster trough the emergency exit using the sword than pulling the levers.
This would allow you to shoot through the window or make your way out of the bus. Remember there are 2 droids in one side (looking to your right) and 1 droid to your left. |
Re: SID's Star Wars Campaign (OOC)
Vanta, what do you think, do you have any plans?( ・∇・)

Hey there friends (players and readers) I wish you a great 2023!
A toast in the name of this new year! May your dreams come to reality and may your baggage carry joy and not bitter grief once we approach the final moment! |
Re: SID's Star Wars Campaign (OOC)
Happy Holidays, Im ready to roll! For the droids I want serendipity for the rifles, I want them to strike the droids with emp or something.(*´꒳`*)
|
Re: SID's Star Wars Campaign (OOC)
We're about to move onto the next area, are you taking any additional actions?
|
Re: SID's Star Wars Campaign (OOC)
So are we just bull rushing through the front door, or what? I assume a speeder bike can make it over that kind of obstacle on its own, but dragging salvage may present more of a problem... I imagine the starship dock isn't really an option, even if it were reachable by my grapnel gun that's not really an avenue for anyone else and the turret is a problem.
|
Re: SID's Star Wars Campaign (OOC)
I suggest we help the people open the doors, then go through.
|
Re: SID's Star Wars Campaign (OOC)
@flogg and vanta
I could use serendipity to solve the door issue, how about it.? |

Re: SID's Star Wars Campaign (OOC)
Comrades, are you going to roll something? BIbingui cant see further away, like you do. (*´ω`*)
|
Re: SID's Star Wars Campaign (OOC)
Well, I did roll, but poorly.
|
Re: SID's Star Wars Campaign (OOC)
Ok! ok! The dashboard refreshes constantly, so we should post/rolepay the resutls in the thread. I didnt notice you, but there's a log and we can search our previous rolls there, afaik the rule of thumb here at pbp is posting what we get after we roll.
|
Re: SID's Star Wars Campaign (OOC)
Sorry, not having really done play-by-post before I doubted that the results of the roll deserved a separate post from the request to make a roll so I recorded it in an edit instead. But that's too easy to miss, isn't it?
|
Re: SID's Star Wars Campaign (OOC)
It's alright, thank you both for your attentions!
|
Re: SID's Star Wars Campaign (OOC)
Sorry, I was absent for a couple of days.ʕ •ᴥ• ʔ
Thank you flog & vanta; Bibingui rolled 18/13 in driving.Blbi cant drive because her armor is broken ( ̄(エ) ̄), SID said her tiny legs wont do this time (LOL). But she can assist K10, so I leave that roll for you. All we need is to jump using the ramp!ʕ •̀ ω •́ ʔ |
