SE - Pulling Rank and Material Aid
 

Hi. I have some questions about Material Aid granted by Rank and Patron.

1) Do the rules, from "Variant Rank and Its Benefits" p.52 apply using Social Engineering - Pulling Rank? In example, do organization with "Large Resources" grant x10 Cash for PC? Or the rules in Social Engineering - Pulling Rank overwrites those in SE?

2) If PC have only Patron, where is the guideline for how many Cash can a Patron grant him? Social Engineering - Pulling Rank works with percentage of campaign starting money based on PC Rank (p. 16), but PC don't have Rank. And it clearly not Funding, just some cash. But how many?

Later, more specific rules are intended to override earlier, more general rules. That's a general principle of GURPS. Of course, if the GM doesn't like a specific rule, they're at liberty to change it. That's Rule Zero of GURPS.
