Which magic system are you using? Aspected Magery means that your IQ is higher for schools covered by the extra Magery, but that isn't the same thing as "specialisation."

I've seen people around the forum saying it does give you the cost reduction, and we've gone through the rules back and forth already. Would appreciate an answer from someone more experienced than us though.

"Effective Skill" is a separate paragraph on the same page


In Basic Set, p.235 the description for spell casting says "Base skill" plus adjustments for spell classes (regular, area, etc), so the Talent of Magery should be inlcuded in "base skill"...

I'm sure I read that a "talent" is to modify the controlling attribute when calculating a skill... I don't see a page reference here:

B563 defines "base skill " as the number before any modifiers. B563 lists a Modifier as a number applied for a specific situation.
