Harry Potter Deluxe - what to discard?

When completing combat, its says discard all cards. Does this include roles, proficiencies and Allies or is it just the items?

At the end of combat with a monster the rules and everything I’ve read say ‘discard all cards used in combat’. Does this include all proficiency and role cards or do they always stay out unless I change them or discard them?

Discard the One-Shot(s), Monster(s), and any Curse!(s) cards played towards the Combat.

Keep the rest of the cards In-Play or in Your Hand unless the rules or cards state they must be discarded when used In-Play.
