It does take some getting used to. Compared to these forums or even FB, Discord channels often seem like a neverending and unstructured stream of consciousness. There are frequent topic jumps and strays into odd tangents, but there are also some interesting and dynamic 'threads' if you have time to watch them closely.

I typically stick to the arena, rules-discussion and house-rules channels.

Re: Discord

Nota bene: Getting your mic to work on Discord can be tricky--at least I found it so. The Push-to-Talk function may not work if you are in another window or tab (such as your virtual table top), and the app that you can install to make Push-to-Talk funcion globally might not get along with your computer. On top of that, there are a few places where you may have to turn your (or someone else's) mic volume to the desired level (I never would have guessed to right-click on someone's icon to change their volume, for instance). Even after reading a few "How To" pages, it took the kind efforts of a very helpful GM to remotely walk me through it before I could get it to work acceptably.

If you're new and are having difficulty grasping the server, just post in the #dungeon channel that you're new, and we members will help you get the hang of it, before using some of its advanced features.

Re: Discord

A new adventure is beginning: in the #Adventure-7 channel group, a team is preparing to play Metagaming Concept's Security Station module. The party is full for playing, but members are welcome to watch.

And TFT Discord is not just for adventuring. There is game discussion, a channel for having rules questions answered, updates on new and upcoming expansions, and more! There's even a radio station.

#adventure-7 We have finished the first running of Security Station.

The group was very successful until the final (and deadly) room.

The Orc Barbarian Garekk managed to get out alive with a vast quantity of loot and is considering whether or not to return to extract any more loot. Unfortunately, his 2 companions did not exit with him ...

[Historically, there is about a 25% survival rate on the final room for those who do not have prior knowledge.]

If there is interest, I may run this again.

As others have stated, trying to find an agreeable time slot is the hardest part, with players scattered all over the world. We ended up with 1 player on the US West coast, 2 participants on the US East coast, and 1 player in between time zone-wise. This enabled us to play once a week for 2-4 hours per session.

The players provided their recommendations for improvement and I will take them into consideration for the next running. The module itself as written is 40-ish years old, yet can be run fairly easily with the recent ITL ruleset.
