What's a reasonable price for Weapon Master (two unrelated weapons)?
For reference:
1 weapon: [20] 2 weapons used together: [25] Small class of weapons: [30] Medium class of weapons: [35] Large class of weapons: [40] All weapons: [45] So what would a reasonable price be for two unrelated weapons, say bastard sword and composite bow? RAW, technically I think you'd have to just buy it twice, but that seems way too expensive. The regular 40 point version can get you a category as broad as "all bladed weapons" or "all one-handed weapons". |

I'd just use the 25 point version.

Agreed with Anders. [20] is for "one weapon", [30] is for "a small group of weapons", [25] while marked as "two normally used together" splits the difference between "one" and "small group".
If all you want are two weapons - let's say the pudao and the slashing wheel - I'd ignore the "used together" quantifier completely. In either case, it's cheaper than taking "one weapon" [20] twice. |
Re: What's a reasonable price for Weapon Master (two unrelated weapons)?
If the two weapons are truly unrelated, and you feel that its important that they aren't, use the [30]. It lets the player know he's cherry picking his weapons, and he's paying extra, but not that much extra.
On the other hand, if he's not going to be switching between them rapidly, compare buying the second weapon as an alternative ability of the first. That costs [20] for the first, and [4] for the second, but you have to spend a second to change which one is on. |

For the record, this is for a solo game I'm thinking about playing. Usually in a regular game I'd just make a decision on something minor and not clear cut like this, but I wanted a second opinion because of that. |

For the second, that makes me think the 1pt difference might be a cheap "Reduced Time" from the 25pt version. If the weapons can't be used simultaneously, then I wouldn't worry about an increased cost, you already have to switch them out, unlike (say) WM with Sword & Board. |
Re: What's a reasonable price for Weapon Master (two unrelated weapons)?
Dungeon Fantasy Denizens: Swashbucklers has a box dedicated to Weapon Master pricing and two different weapons that can be used at the same time is considered a 25 point advantage.

Re: What's a reasonable price for Weapon Master (two unrelated weapons)?
25 is more than fair, considering that taking Weapon Master (Single Weapon) twice and counting one of them as an Alternate Ability would only cost 24.

Re: What's a reasonable price for Weapon Master (two unrelated weapons)?
I think it depends on the exact weapons. If both are melee weapons that will never be used together and do much the same job (say a broadsword and an axe), 25-points is probably fair. If however one is a ranged weapon and the other a melee, or a melee weapon that covers a very different role (say a Halberd and a Long Knife) I think 30-points is more reasonable, because while they can't be used at the same time, they will each be used in situations where the other isn't useful.

This is actually cheaper than "2 weapons used together" but the caveat here is you CAN'T use them together: which is perfect for "sword and box" because you wouldn't normally be able to use them simultaneously anyway. |
