Re: Kneeling and Prone

Since people are talking about kneeling and prone, there's something I'm not clear on...

What bonus does someone get if they're attacking somebody who is kneeling? If I recall correctly, the rules sorta vaguely imply it's the same as attacking someone who is prone, but it seems like a kneeling person would be at a slightly less disadvantage.

According to the optional detailed rules where a figure can be forced to kneel by leg injuries:

Quote:

While kneeling, though, he attacks at -2 and is attacked at +2.
How that combines with facing modifies for side/rear, though? I would say stack them but don't go over +4.

On the subject of rules nuances around prone-ness, if a figure is knocked down in combat, and it's attacker took no hits during the turn, can the attacker force retreat the fallen figure?

Re: Kneeling and Prone

I don't think the rules say not, so technically RAW I expect so, but a GM might (or might not) rule that a fallen figure can't be retreated. I'd tend to allow it, because I think it's a way to include the possibility of getting people to fall back and down, (even though technically they fall down and then back).

Kicking them while they're down. I like it.

Crossbowmen do much better (both offensively & defensively) when lying prone or supported/braced like a table, tree limb etc...
