Middle Age Curse

Collar of Shapeshifting that forces the wearer to become (and remain forever) the 45-year old version of themselves. Requires Remove Curse or whatever to remove but most several hundred year old wearers never bother.

Can I have the 25-year-old version? I'd like to run up and down stairs without losing my breath again. Or wake up and actually be enthusiastic about getting out of bed, instead of wanting to sleep another two or three hours.

Or does it only give the appearance of the specified age, without the attributes?

ITL 33: "Shifting to a new shape gives you the physical, but not the mental, abilities of that shape."

Good enough. Better, actually — you'd get the youth and vigor, but keep the accumulated knowledge and wisdom.

A drooling twenty year-old with the mind of a 90-year old woman.

I'm with you on that one. It's a shame that we are talking fantasy here.

Probably something really horrible happens, like a Dorian Gray kind of thing, and all the age suddenly catches up to you at once. If your actual chronological age is high enough, maybe you crumble into dust.
