Re: Show me the magic!

Long ago I saw a spell to summon a horse. It had a very short duration so it wasn't all that useful. I was wondering about something like this:
Quote:

Steed (IQ 12, C, ST 4) Summons a riding horse (ST 22, IQ 5). The wizard specifies a route and a number of passengers. As soon as the horse has its full load of passengers it will travel toward its destination at 12 miles per hour (less if heavily laden) using its IQ to avoid obstacles and other traffic. After one hour it will stop, one minute later it vanishes, or can be refreshed after an hour at the same ST cost. The horse will not fight, even to defend itself, will not pull a vehicle and is not sufficiently comfortable to permit horseback resting.
Any thoughts?

GhostStone: Bind a ghost into a Powerstone and force it to gather mana (as per ITL 148) to recharge one point every 8 hours in addition to the one point per day for total of four points of "automatic" recharge each day.

IQ 12 Translate (T): A weaker form of Telepathy that doesn't force answers or truth. The caster and subject are simply able to understand each other for the duration of the spell, even when speaking different languages. Only works on subjects with conscious minds. Costs 2 fatigue to cast, 1 per minute to maintain.

It's easy to make wizards more and more powerful by inventing spells which at least partially replace non-spell abilities: in this case all the languages. But I'm unconvinced this is desirable.

Henry, you've often said cryptic things I took to imply you think wizards are the only sensible class to play. If you think that, why give them another niche?

Amulet of Freedom: When enchanted with Immunity to Rope this item protects against Rope, Giant Rope, and all other entanglements and pins. Lassos and such just slide off.
