Re: Legos TFT
I've been using Legos for awhile now. Though my first foray into it back in the 80s was nixed by players that didn't want all smiling figures cutting them down.
Recently I ran a superhero game with all Lego using Hero System, but didn't use hexes and just used a lego measuring stick. Not as important under the Hero rules, but the hex bases would help with engaged and facing issues. I rarely stray outside of Lego sourced, but I could make an exception. If the bases are a two flat height, one could use a connector to be able to make larger than one hex bases, Megahex and even 14 hex dragon bases. Though, without any effort, the bases that come in the mini-packs that Lego sells work well enough. |
Re: Legos TFT
Any recommendations for an affordable way to get into using minifigs. It looks like it’d be pretty expensive to get enough minifigs & medieval accessories to get started.

Re: Legos TFT
My son is a Lego freak so that's the route we're going. But if you had to start fresh I still think it would be cost effective because you don't have to pay for paint or spend the time painting. Also you can interchange weapons so the figures are customizable.
Here's a good source for weapons where you don't have to buy a Lego set: https://www.gibrick.com/ Unless you find a source for angry heads somewhere you still got that smiling bad guy thing going though... |

Fisherro -
(1) www.bricklink.com if you need a lot of stuff. But - (2) If you live in a moderately big town you may have a Lego aftermarket dealer near you. Or if you live near a Lego store, they probably have a feature that lets you put together minifigs from whatever parts they have on hand that day. (3) Put out the call to your friends and see if anyone is sitting on a stash of old Lego, especially Castle theme, that they are not using. (4) Come to GameholeCon . . . |

Re: Legos TFT
At a Lego store they do let you assemble mini figures from parts in a bin, but they usually don't have a good selection of weapons and armor. Usually stuff for crossing guards, construction workers, etc.

Note to self - If a bit worse for wear (with drink), read the subject title carefully before clicking and wanting to know more about Legolas TFT...

Re: Legos TFT
For those who want megahexes, perhaps you can try your hand at 3D Printing.
I'm sure if one were made, the distribution of the code could be a boon to Legos TFT. |
Re: Legos TFT
Well, now that I know Lego aftermarket stores are a thing, I’ll have to go visit the local one.
And that’s yet another reason to try to get to GameholeCon. We normally only make it to NTRPG, but I keep hearing good things about Gamehole. |
