When Will TFT Get a Magic Artillery Supplement?

Sometimes, a 16-die Wizard’s Wrath just doesn’t get it done. I hereby lobby for a TFT version of the undoubtedly awesome “Magic Artillery Shells”: http://www.warehouse23.com/products/SJG37-0154

I''ve played with some that I liked and some I didn't, from Interplay articles and other places.

I liked:

Exploding Fireball
Control Missile (not just reverse, you get to send them where you want)
Multiple Creation (summon 7 myrmidons or gargoyles at once...)

I didn't like:

Light Ray (I didn't like the skewering point being death - didn't make sense)
Heat Metal (well I liked that it's awesome but it's also an almost certain death sentence to those in metal armor)
Fiery Ground Eruption (liked thematically at first, then didn't)
Earthquake & Volcano (too powerful/nonsensical to the world geologically / damage-wise).

I have played with some super-powered magics but it tends to really overshadow personal skill of warriors... though they can also sometimes have some fun, until they run into the wrong magic.

Oh, yeah. I remember Exploding Fireball and tried it. That's a good one. I like characters using that rather than Molotov Cocktails... which are OP.

There need to be more rules for what can be done to put out flaming oil.

Hmm... An explosive fireball, might tempt me if the IQ and cost was high enough. But generally, I find wizards plenty tough.

Warm regards, Rick.

Agreed. As the use of fire (in general) within the labyrinth can potentially present a huge issue - depending on how, or if, you GM it's primary and secondary effects (i.e. smoke, light, heat, ignition of underground natural gases, etc.); which can be of further harmful (or helpful) tertiary effects to an adventure party; depending on their long-range goals for a given area on the game-world map on the surface above - if any.

After all, not all wizards know Magic Rainstorm.

New Magic Item: Magic Fire Extinguishers. Generally built using a long red tube, capped on either end by shiny metal parts, and some tubing on one of the end caps. Contains a magical "foam" which extinguishes fire within 6 turns...

Heh.

Actually, I was really just impressed at the panache of naming a supplement “Magic Artillery Shells”.
