Multiplayer Trouble

Hmpf. I found an online opponent, kept tabbing in and out to check if it was my turn yet. Nope. Later closed game for a reboot. When I reopened it I was informed I'd lost the game because I hadn't made my play in time. Anyone else had this happen?

I guess the workaround is to close and reopen the game rather than leave it open.

That shouldn't happen unless you left it that way for hours. how long was the game in limbo before you reopened it?

Most of the Thanksgiving weekend. I think I started the game on Friday.

If you left it that way (not responding) for over 2 days, you would auto-lose (I noticed that the timer on multiplayer games is 2 days).

Yeah. But I checked on the game every few hours and it said it was waiting on my opponent the whole time. That's what has me annoyed.

Yeah, that's not great. I never noticed that because I dropped back to the main screen to see if it would move things along. In a couple cases early on, that was required to get it to advance.

having it say you are waiting for the other guy and having it hose you for not playing your turn (when it's not your turn) is obviously wrong.

Can I ask whether you and/or your opponent were playing in the beta or on the default branch?

Thanks

I was on the default branch. Opponent was GreenTea, don't know his status.
