Multiplayer Lag/ Turn Freezing

Just started playing and I'm experiencing a serious problem when playing multiplayer games with a friend of mine. After he completes a turn the game will 'freeze' and not switch back to my turn for a very long time (several minutes.)

The game itself is not frozen in that you can still work within it, active menus, pan the map, etc- but it will not switch from his turn back to my turn for a very long time. Long enough that it makes the game essentially unplayable.

He is running the game on a Mac with a windows 10 virtual machine. The game runs just fine in single player mode on both of our PCs.

Is this a known issue/ any ideas?

Thanks

I've seen similar behavior. What I do to get around it is I exit back to the main screen and the game then notifies me there's a new turn waiting. It's clunky, but it does speed things up a lot.

If you can, both you and your friend should grab your output_log.txt files and email them to Auroch Digital so they can try to troubleshoot the issue. having logs from both sides of the same game might make finding the problem more likely.

Follow the directions under the Bug Reporting Instructions thread.
