Zero's Tombstone

Zero's Tombstone is equipped and I have a (Oh, Could It Be I Got My) Wishing Ring in my hand. Say I kick in the door and get cursed; Zero's Tombstone says I must discard it (Zero's Tombstone) and suffer the curse, but could I play the Wishing Ring to avoid the curse and/or avoid discarding Zero's Tombstone?
