[Spaceships] ExD Interface & Jump Gates?

Could a ship with an "Extradimensional Interface" (SS7 p.8) which reduces its external size/mass by 4 SM use a "Jump Gate" (SS1 p.19) it generated which has a capacity of SM-3?

Dalton “or would it get ... stuck?” Spence

GM's choice for how the technology works. Both yes and no are plausible answers.

seconded. Gurps is made to accommodate settings, not to restrict them.

Unless the ship can somehow fold in on itself, like some bizarre spaceship-ouroboros, the Jump Gate would have to detach and stay behind.

If you do this, or if you see a Jump Gate as generating a wormhole outside of the ship - like, it shoots a beam that makes a wormhole a couple meters in front of it - it should work fine. So long as there aren't any weird interactions when you throw such a thing through a wormhole, anyway.

Gotta second this, a Jump Gate is a system that allows other SS objects to travel FTL, not you.

Not said if you had two of them it might, sort of, work. At the very least one would be able to move the other, maybe, if someone didn't rule that turning on the ExD didn't decrease the size of the Jump Gate/Point

I was thinking of Babylon 5 where large ships can create their own gates to hyperspace that they use themselves. Sure, the same effect might be GM declared for a Jump/Hyperdrive, but this seemed cooler somehow. ;) Although the idea of a mothership carrying an ExDI auxiliary craft with a projectable Jump Gate that it could use for a quick escape has some merit. How the extradimensional mass/size of an ExDI auxiliary craft would be handled by external Stardrives, Exophase Fields, Parachronic/Time Flux Drives or ExDIs would very much be another "GM determined" decision. ;)
