Prehensile pigtails ?
 

Been playing and learning rules a ton over the last few days, so sorry if I have missed it if this is obvious somewhere.

I had prehensile pigtails holding the staff of napalm for me, while my original 'hands' held a 2 hand item. Someone played the 'disaster bird flu' on me which makes me lose my headgear. Pigtails does not say you lose anything it allows you to 'hold' when they are gone... However all headgear goes if you have more. I only had pigtails. So suddenly I went from 4 hands to 2, with 3 hands of stuff in use active, none in play sideways.

My question is: could I switch my 2 hand item to not in use/sideways, and keep the staff of napalm in use? (all were already in play and in use). I don't have to discard the staff, right?

I was not in combat, no one was, so changing what items in play are equipped is allowed...

Off to buy need for steed...

You must unequip any Items you can no longer legally use. You may choose which Items to unequip.
