Compendum Question
 

While looking through my old gaming materials, I found my Car Wars Compendium, Its in good shape, but only has 112 pages, ISBN 1-55634-145-8 Part number SJG01495 7142

Can anyone tell me for sure which one I have?

There are three basic versions. The first edition has a blue cover with a motorcycle, car, and helicopter, and no identifying text (i.e., as the first edition, it doesn't say "First Edition"). The first version of the second edition has the same blue cover, but with "Second Edition" on it. The final version has a black cover, but again says "Second Edition."

If your copy is shorter, with a blue cover but no edition number, then you likely have the first edition.
