Cleric, Hoard, Wand of Dousing Combo

Hi,

Question for clarification,
my friend, who was a cleric, used the wand of dousing and chose the Hoard card from the discard pile, placed the Wand of Dousing on the discard pile. Since he draws his treasures face-up according to the instructions on the hoard card, he used the cleric's resurrection ability to get the wand of dousing and drew his other 2 treasures face up from the Treasure card pile. Then repeat, Wand of Dousing for Hoard, and resurrection until he had a massive stock of treasure cards.

Is this the proper order of events? When do you actually discard the Wand of Dousing and the Hoard card?

I would think that you would play the wand of dousing, pick the hoard, then draw 3 cards, then discard the wand of dousing and hoard cards, thus preventing this mass hoard of treasures, but am not sure.

Side question, can the Wand of Dousing be used to get a treasure from the door card discard pile? or just the treasure card pile?

Thanks!

A couple of relevant quotes from the Munchkin FAQ:

A. It goes into your hand for a split second, then triggers the "play immediately" condition. It is considered to be face-down.

Q. Can a cleric use Hoard over and over by discarding it before he starts drawing his three cards, and drawing it again, and discarding it and drawing three more, and so on?
A. No. Discard Hoard AFTER the three cards are drawn. GREAT try, though! (This is a reason NEVER to have two copies of Hoard in your deck . . .)

Wand of Dowsing doesn't specify which discards you can draw from, so either Doors or Treasures are OK.
